Olá buttercups! Happy Monday to you all. I hope your weekend was grand. Here, on Sunday it was Mother's Day! I had a great day. Some shopping, sunshine, Ben & Jerries Icecream, dinner cooked for me. My girls made me a card and my oldest gave me a dog change purse filled with coins, bless her :) These pictures were thought of after watching Machine Gun Preacher, I cried the whole way through. Really a heart jerker. I spend a lot of time in support of Unicef and other children's charities and it never ceases to shock me how they are used by crime lords and gangs in different countries. Everyone deserves freedom & if that can't be something we fight for, then I don't know what we should fight for. Do see the movie if you have time, it's a true life one. Well, have a wonderful Monday flower petals!! Be well!!

Love loves

  1. Don't we forget far too often how very lucky we are to live in a part of the world where we have (relative) freedom? I do think about things like that quite often and always end up being grateful for the sheer coincidence of being lucky enough to have been born in the "right" place. Life is good and I shouldn't forget that over silly little worries... Wishing you a lovely week ahead xo

  19. Happy Mother's day! I am surprised it is so early in Europe, we celebrate in May :) I've never seen the machine gun preacher but any movie about youth soldiers and human trafficking always makes me sad.

  20. i've always wanted to see Machine Gun Preacher, and I'm looking forward to volunteering outside of fashion, so maybe something related to Unicef could be a good start.

  21. Happy Monday Timbarika!! AND, HAPPY BELATED MOTHER'S DAY!! I learned from another blog earlier this morning that it was Mum's Day this past Sunday in the UK. Motherhood is freeing to the soul that desires to love and nurture. xoxo

  39. How we take our freedom for granted these days.

I remember as I was growing up, hearing tales of those who risked lives and limbs for freedom. I remember when mum took in some folk from Soweto, Uganda and beyond. We told people that they worked for us just so that they could stay in the relative safety of Kenya at that time.

    memories.
