Day at the Museum

Hiya babycakes!! How are you!?! Grand, I hope. It has been a crazy week for me, but I am happy it is Friday. The weather has been all over the place too. This is some of the pictures I took at the museum while I was away for the week. I had to break it into groups of pictures to share, as there was just too many photos to show you all at one time. So, we start at the beginning and with the building itself. I had a marvellous time there, I simply adore museums and I hope that you'll enjoy this one too. I'll showcase each section until finished. I took pictures of all kinds of different treasures. And of course, I will be your lovely Dolly hostess (with the mostest) taking you through the Art Gallery/museum (can you tell, I really want to work at a museum!?! haha, I would love it) Hope you Enjoy!!

{The Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is a museum and art gallery in Glasgow, Scotland. The building houses one of Europe's great civic art collections. Since its 2003–2006 refurbishment, the museum has been the most popular FREE-TO-ENTER (love free stuff) visitor attraction in Scotland, and the most visited museum in the United Kingdom outside London. Kelvingrove has 22 themed, state-of-the-art galleries displaying an astonishing 8000 objects.
The gallery is located on Argyle Street, in the West End of the city, on the banks of the River Kelvin (opposite the architecturally similar Kelvin Hall, which was built in matching style some years later, after the previous hall had been destroyed by fire). It is adjacent to Kelvingrove Park and is situated immediately beneath the main campus of the University of Glasgow on Gilmorehill.}

{Come to my place, built in a gorgeous Spanish Baroque style with red sandstone...there is plenty room for everyone! ;-)

{My uber grand centre hallway is flanked by original Electroliers and has a massive pipe organ that plays wonderful music for your listening pleasure.}

{Don't mind the hanging heads, they make faces at everyone - it's not you really!}

{Birds flying high, you know how I feel. It's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life, for me & I'm feeling good}

{These gigantic and beautiful electroliers are originals, here to light our way, I want one, but I could get fired for swiping them & we wouldn't want that!}

{My beautiful styled ceiling, it's a pesky task getting those spider webs, but somebody's got to do it!!}

{And for getting out of here to feel some breeze, I just hop in my spitfire and fly away or if I'm feeling the need for a stroll in the park, my trusty giraffe friend here takes me along, he's so well behaved that he never moves...never!}

Well, that concludes our tour for today, we will have a short intermission. Refreshments are available in the great centre hall for your enjoyment...feel free to rest or browse around until we resume our journey...thank you!

Haha..a little bit of fun ;-)

Have a marvellous weekend darlings!

  2. The weather is pretty irritating for us over here as well doll, sometimes it rains heavily and in other times the sun can't help but split the trees. The visit to the museum seems like a lot of fun, excellent photos.

  4. soooo magica! so grand! so beautiful!

    loveLOVElove that this museum is free to the public.
    one of my favorite art museums back home was always free for all to enjoy. at the exit was a chance to donate and people did infact donate.
    there have been times in my life i just could not go to a museum that charged admission, because i could in no way afford it.
    that makes me sad.
    having art as an outlet in my life has been a source of sanity, healing and livelihood wich fed my soul and my children.

    thank God for art and to those that let those in who couldn't afford the admission, for it could change a life.
    have a beautiful weekend!
