{Happy Friday} Question Me

Hiya my darling dolls, I do hope the week fared well with you! This week has seemed long for me really, I'm glad for the weekend. I'll be enjoying my weekend with some preparations for my upcoming birthday in the new week (Wednesday) and getting some photography work done that I've not had time to finish....for those that have asked...you can view/purchase my work from my website 'Nouveau Dreams', I have some things still to add to it, but it's there to see & hopefully you will enjoy it :)  I was tagged in some questions so long ago by the beauty Miss. Meadows, so I'm finally getting them answered, sorry if it's long...Hope you enjoy & have a marvellous weekend.

xoxoxox

P.S. Welcome to all of my new 'followers', I appreciate you being here.

1. What is your guilty pleasure?

I don't have any to be honest, if I want something I just have it. I think we spend too much time feeling bad for things, especially things they label as a guilty pleasure, such as food. If I want chocolate, I eat it & I eat a lot of it really, but I like it, so there's no guilt there. I think when we feel bad for wanting to eat chocolate or buy something, we only stress ourselves out and become miserable. If you can afford it, buy it or if you take care of yourself otherwise, have the chocolate and be happy :)

2. If a magic genie would pop up out of a lamp and give you three wishes, what would those wishes be?

* To be able to spend some missed time with my father.

* To live in some Edwardian like manor house somewhere in the countryside with my husband and girls, bunnies, a secret garden, peacocks and flowers and antiques everywhere and best of all lots of happiness :))

* To travel the world to all the marvellous Art places and work in a beautiful museum.

3. What is your favourite thing to wear?

Hmmm...most people would pop in and say dresses and yes this is true, haha! But, sometimes it's the fabrics that I look at first. I like silks, satins and lace. Fabrics that glide over the skin and make you feel good and smile to yourself. I would definitely say anything that's different. I don't like to put myself in a box and say I only wear vintage or I only wear this and that....I like to say I only wear what I like or what I feel is unique. That's more important to me than all the other things. Being unique and being me...I don't ever want a label of a 'vintage girl' or other silly things people have come up with, I just want to be me and be creative - always! Whenever I fall in line and loose the creativity in things is when life will be over for me, I live to create :) 'I want to be a work of art & have magic, yes magic' as the saying goes!

4. If you could invite four persons (living or dead) to a dinner party, who would you invite, and why?

Kate Bush - because she's freaking awesome, adore her <3

Theda Bara - because she's seen as one of the first sex symbols of film, I'd like to hang out with her away from that & discover who she was as just herself. Because when you're labelled as something like that, the real you tends to get washed away.

Marilyn Monroe - I think for the same reasons as I said for the above, they pretty much had the same label, just at different times. I'd like to know how it made them feel as women to deal with all the pressure and sometimes only being seen as a sex symbol and nothing else.

Audrey Hepburn - because she had the biggest heart for children and love. She cared and campaigned for those in need. Most people today care only for themselves, material possessions or for getting famous, she used all those things to make life brighter for others.

5. What's your favorite movie?

Hmmm..since I've gotten this one before, I'll name a different one as I have many favourite movies.  I loved this movie growing up in the 80's. It gave me that spark of rebellion really, about being yourself even when those around you appear different, because at the end of the day, we all go through a lot of the same things...so don't assume your better than another person because you just don't know what they face.

6. What's the worst pick-up line you've ever heard?

Hahaha...'do you wash your clothes in bleach, because I can see myself in them'. Seriously, get a grip. No one likes that. My husband wrote me poetry...that's how you get my attention, with intelligence, manners and respect for me as a woman with feelings and brains.

7. I know children and pets come first. But what is your most prized MATERIAL possession?

I can do without material possessions in that way, if there is something in my house that I think to myself that I'd freak if it was gone or couldn't give to someone, then I shouldn't really have it. I prefer people and experiences over material possessions. But, since I'm being asked for something, I would say a softball glove & uniform top, a rosary and some old photos of my father. He died when I was 3 almost four, so those things are all I have of him, they can't be replaced, so, that would be my choice.

8. What is your favorite song?

Kate Bush - Cloudbusting. She's been my favourite since a child...I've always felt she was something that didn't fit in the box like myself. I always find solace in her music and creativity. When I'm feeling down I listen to Cloudbusting and it's like everything gets better, like her lyrics say...''Cause every time it rains, your here in my head, like the sun coming out, I just know that something good is going is gonna happen, I don't know when, but just saying it could even make it happen'. She's a beautiful artist that I just adore.

9. What was your favorite toy when you were little?

My Wonder Woman doll

10. If you could live someone else's life for one day, who would you choose, and why?

No one...I like being me and I wouldn't ever want to be anyone else, even for a day. Someone's life can seem picture perfect from the outside, but once your there in their shoes, you can often see that they have struggles just like anyone else. And I'm limited edition - one of a kind, so  I just want to be me :))))))

11. What's the most nerve-wracking thing you've ever done?

Sing in front of hundreds of people, I was only nervous for a few minutes though...stage lights are so bright and blinding, you can't see the crowd anyways...until someone's camera flashes. But, it's fine really.

I love the pick up line and can't believe that you once sang in front of so many people, what was that for? I'm envious about your attitude on guilty pleasures too.

  11. You made me laugh so hard with that pick up line! It's interesting what you said about the sex symbol label "same label, in different times..." I wonder what's really behind that need of creating such labels. Anyway...Lovely post, darling, as always. Have a great weekend and enjoy the pre- bday festivities. XOXO

  13. I'd be super nervous to sing in front of a bunch of people, so kudos to you for doing that. I really enjoyed reading this post and learning more about the things you love and cherish. My father died when I was 16 and I kept almost all of his ties just because. So I could never part with those material things.

And The Breakfast Club is one of my favorite movies of all time. It was just on the other day, and I told myself I really didn't need to watch it for the 100th time...but I did anyway.
