{Happy Friday} What am I currently doing!?!

Happy Friday dolls!! Yes, finally Friday...I for one am beat. As Autumn comes in full force, I am starting to feel like a bear in need of hibernation. I don't even want to think of winter, but I can feel it coming soon. I already bought gloves and a hat, haha. But, what I do love about this time is sitting with candles and a book as the light of the moon streams into the window, beckoning you to come out and play. Autumn is the night time, the moon, the lingering breeze that whispers through the leaves that you don't always hear in the busy day times. Sitting outside, just there, still in the night listening to all the music nature makes most when people are no where to be seen. Beautiful, magical Autumn! Below are just some photos that I love by Irina Ionesco...I hope you enjoy them too. Welcome to all my new dolls here...have a wonderful weekend!

Love loves

Currently

Reading: The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. I have read this many times, but it's one I seem to like to read in the Autumn, it just fits the mood. Adore his writings. I'm also re-reading the works of Baudelaire, Poe and Byron.

Watching: Though, I don't watch much TV, I do love catching up with Downton Abbey (the new season has been fab so far) and most recently, I love the new original British drama The Paradise, seriously, I want to live in the shop :)  Also Merlin has come back, so that's a must. Love medieval times & I can't wait for Game of Thrones to come back too :)

Listening: Lately, I've been playing on repeat the recent album from Florence & The Machine, I always love the cinematics of the videos as well. She wears clothes I want to swipe. Spinning the old stuff too, like Kate Bush, The Doors, The CureNirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Stevie Nicks & T-Rex

Missing: a good night's sleep to be honest. My sleep gets quite broken with my youngest daughter at the moment. She's almost 1 1/2 now, so she can be a little rascal at times and not want to sleep, haha :)

Irina Ionesco, born September 3, 1935, is a French photographer born in Paris. The daughter of Romanian immigrants. She spent the childhood years of her life in Constanta, Romania before she moved to Paris. Many years were spent travelling and painting before she discovered photography. Her work is often described as erotic. These are only just a small sampling of her work, it's a must to discover more. Some of her most famous work is ones taken of her young daughter, but they are also her most controversial as they feature her daughter in atmospheres more suited for older women. I left those out though, just because I don't like pictures of children presented in an older fashion.

  2. Wow! I didn't know that we share so much besides fashion, amazing! The Shadow of the Wind is one of my favourite books too, I can't get enough from Kate Bush and the waiting for Game of Thrones is something I'm craving for.

Wishing you a good autumn day, if you feel like a bear it must be a very sweet bear! I hope you can sleep better today. Love, Sara xx

  6. I find it weird that you have a daughter who's one and a half years old for some reason Doll, maybe it's because we've known each other for a full year now and I had no idea you had recently been a mother then, I really hope that you get the sleep that you need soon though because it'd be great for you.

Sorry to hear you're dreading Winter too, I'm in the exact same boat too, I love Irina Ionesco's work too, it's fabulous, thanks for introducing me to her!

  16. I feel like hibernating too and it's only in the 50s! What am I gonna do come December??? :)

I just started watching the first season of Downton Abbey this week and I'm obsessed. Almost done. I'm sure I'll finish both seasons in no time. Only thing is then I'll be sad to have to wait for the new season. I don't think it premieres here until Jan 6th...

Have a great weekend, Kizzy! Oh and I love what you're currently spinning. Some of my faves :) xoxo

  21. Kizzy, you know I'm a Downton Abbey fan! I can't wait until the new season starts here in the States. HaHa So all I have to look forward to is the new James Bond movie until that starts. I love the television shows across the pond. The actors have a lot of depth. Irina's work is gorgeous! I just want you to know, I really enjoy the people you showcase. It's always a learning experience. There's so many artists I don't know. So thank you doll! Have a great weekend and enjoy yourself.

  31. Hello Kizzy,

I am waiting for Downton Abbey to restart here in the US. I believe the new season will start in 2013 so we have a while to wait. I am enjoying a new one hour show on our PBS network called The Midwife and another hour long series called Lark Rise to Candleford which I think is a series that has been discontinued in the UK.

Funny you are reading The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon because I've just finished The Prisoner of Heaven and just started on the The Angel's Game. While I am reading this my husband is reading The Shadow of the Wind! I really enjoyed the first book and the second one is really starting to get good. He is a very good writer.

I hope you will have a wonderful weekend and able to catch a few winks in between getting up to tend to your daughter. I remember very well getting up throughout the night... and the sleep you never regain. HAH

  59. Very interesting lady and photography. Thanks for introducing us to her! And as for winter hibernation which you alluded to in your other posts, I'd love to have a break too but feel that I am even busier than ever. The good thing is that everything concerns art, dance and intellectual stimulation, which lights a fire under me and suppresses the weary hibernating button, at least for a little while! -- J xx
