{Photographer} Ellen Rogers

Photographer Artist, Ellen Rogers is from London. She uses no computer enhancing or Photoshop manipulations to create her work, it comes straight out of traditional darkroom processing, which for me I find most breath taking and refreshing. The use of these long forgotten techniques, brings forth a timeless, dreamlike state that captures the viewers attention and draws them deep into her state of being. She's been featured & interviewed  in numerous publications, she also gives lectures around England. I thrive seeing women making their way in what they love, it's very inspiring. Her work is mind altering in the most amazing of ways,  I adore dreamy things. And I hope you enjoy them too & check out more of her work on the website as there is so much to view & believe me, it gets even better :) Have a marvellous Monday dolls!

  1. Hello:
Ellen Rogers' work is certainly most enticing and does, indeed, have a quality about it which distinguishes it from so much of today's computer generated imagery. It is quite reassuring to discover that the old methods and techniques are not entirely abandoned.

  2. I like her work. I don't have anything against digital cameras, I have one myself but I think that the film has a special quality, a kind of warmness. These photos are just beautiful, they remind me of the gold age of hollywood and some arty stuff.

  3. Wow, they're amazing. It's a shame that the old art form of "real" photography is dying out. I remember having a tiny "darkroom" in my parent's "pantry" when I was a teenager and I used to develop my own photos. On the other hand, the sheer amount of photos I now take would probably bankrupt me if I had to process them all in that way... ;-) Have a lovely week and stay warm xo

  17. Pretty cool..they have a bit of darkness to them yet beauty. I love how each looks like it's been layered to create a bit of dimension and even more, the fact that nothing has been altered but presented in its raw form. Amazing!

    Enjoy your day;)

  61. What amazing images. My husband trained as a traditional photographer and had his own darkroom. He is always saying how easy it has become for anyone to try and be a photographer as any image can be digitally enhanced or a mistake rectified. Ellen's work however takes real skill.

  66. LOVE IT!!! But you already knew I would... ;) I love these photos ESPECIALLY since they were created the old fashioned way. Even though you can do a lot of cool things with photoshop and special effects, this is what I call REAL photography! You actually need to know how to take a good picture to be able to do this! :) xx
