{Product Review} Figs & Rouge Balms

When the harsh weather sets in, my lips are always the first to suffer. As a child I had a nervous habit of licking my lips, which caused them to chap quite a lot and it still happens as an adult. Whilst browsing the beauty products one day in Boots,  looking for something for my lips, I came across the most beautiful tins ever...in their vintage Art Nouveau-esqe designs, I quickly snatched them up & hoped from their tantalising beauty and descriptions, they just might work as well.

And work, they did indeed. I bought three of them due to their descriptions for both the hands, face and body. Plus, the fact that they use organic ingredients was very important to me. Just before Christmas I happen to enter one of their give-aways on Twitter and won my prize of their Coco Vanilla Balm to add to my collection.

Their balms are 100% organic & natural. They use vitamin enriched organic essential oils, pure Shea butters and nature's best organic bees wax. These award winning balms are made to give the best and effective results for all skin types. None of their products are tested on animals and come packaged in the most beautiful tins I've ever seen. And with the tins being so stylish and beautiful, you can happily carry them on display in your bag or on your desk, I plan on keeping the tins long after all the product is gone - yes, I love them that much!

What's great about these balms is that they're so versatile...many of them can be used not only for the lips, but the face and body. I know sometimes in winter whilst out and about, the skin can start to feel dry and chapped, and I've just popped one of these beauties out & almost instantly my skin reaped the benefits. The only down side I've had with these lip balms, is that I can't eat any of them, haha! Seriously, that would be bad, but the peppermint or cocoa one just teases to be eaten, smells so delish ;) I've given a short review of each product I have myself & also included ones that I plan on trying next ;)

Enjoy!

Figs and Rouge Website

Check the website for other places to purchase these, if you need help, let me know!

You can also buy from here if you live outside of the UK: click here

Coco Vanilla Balm (for lips, face, hand & body): The aroma and feel of the balm is all together quite light, There isn't an overly strong coco or vanilla fragrance, like I had thought there would be because of previous coco & vanilla products used in the past, but I prefer this subtle scent rather than the in your face scents of others. It glides over easily and the lips feel soft almost instantly...this would work great over a really drying lipstick. A bonus is, that I usually a coco butter on my face, so I can just use this as well when I can't get to my lotion, as I tend to have make-up free days when I'm at home.

Sweet Geranium Balm (for the lips, face & body): I've smelled sweet geranium before, having done Aromatherapy in Beauty Therapy & wasn't sure I'd like this one, as I'm not a huge fan of this oil, but again I loved the tin, haha. But, even though, I may not be a fan of the aroma for my lips, I tried it on my elbows and heels and it really worked wonders keeping them soft, which is important, as no one likes walking around with cracked up heels and elbows, haha. Beauty fail!!

Peppermint & Tea Tree Lip Repair Balm: Just having been Christmas, I adore this one. Makes me instantly daydream of swiping candy canes off the tree with that sweet taste & cooling feeling that glides down your chest as you take it all in. All you need is to be sipping a hot cocoa and your set. But, I would advise if your not one for peppermint, then this product won't be for you. I wouldn't say the peppermint is strong, I just know I have some friends that detest peppermint and even the slightest hint of it and their put off. And you can feel and taste the mint with every breath in. My lips felt cool and moisturised in seconds. Like with the others, my lips didn't feel greasy or heavy and at any moment I may have thought the product wasn't there, a slight rubbing together of the lips proved that the product was still ding it's job.

Rambling Rose Balm (for the lips, face & body): Now, I have never been a fan of anything with Rose in it, but because of this having such a subtle fragrance, even I can use it and still enjoy it. Like with the Sweet Geranium balm, I've used this one for my face and body and it softens without being greasy, leaving just a gentle sweet fragrance behind, moisturising and soothing the skin. Being someone who can't take strong aromas, this is perfect, as anything stronger would leave me with a migraine. It tends to remind me of drinking a green tea with rose in it, very pleasant.

All in all, I think Figs & Rouge is marvellous & really feel their products work and don't just look gorgeous in their tins. And best of all, they last...so little of the product is needed to maintain a good coverage & you actually feel like it's working and not just covering up the problems.  I would recommend them to anyone. Being available in many places...they are worth, in my opinion checking out. Maybe a giveaway treat for the future...will have to see ;) But, I hope you enjoy...and will check out their website & say hello to them on twitter, such sweet gals too!!

Have a darling day & weekend to come dolls!!
