A Monday on a Tuesday!!

Hello my beauties!! I hope everyone had a great holiday time!! Monday was still holidays here, so I decided to have an extra day off. The sun was shining and it was beautiful. My daughter Saffron decided it was 'stay in your pyjamas all day', so we did just that! We had a wonderful weekend, it's so grand to see the beauty of Spring finally coming to life. It was also a time of remembrance for my Nana who had passed away last year. I do miss her so :) Lately I've been reading a lot of blogs with posts in the direction of the person questioning themselves & who they are. Like, blogging has made them not feel themselves, as if they felt the need to change to fit in more or be liked. Good grief, always be yourself. What we are, makes us unique! We weren't made to be like others. I get a lot of messages from girls saying how they wish they could dress up as much as I do (wearing dresses every day) I say nooooo...be yourself! If you like wearing jeans, wear them. I wear trousers, just not that often. I prefer my world very eclectic  because my brain gets bored too easily, I need to create. I've seen blogs strive to change themselves to get more readers or noticed by companies...Just be yourself...the right ones will come! Anyone you have to change who you are for, is not worth your time in the first place! I may love art & vintage & weird stuff, but it doesn't mean I don't accept people who are opposite to me. If you want to dress in loud colours or patterns or have wild hair - go for it! And if dressing in the simplest clothes is your thing, do it, because you are being you & that is what truly makes one unique!! Dress to express the colour of your heart & dreams...be a walking work of art...because that's exactly what we all are!! Have a great day dolls!!

Love loves

ow, that is sad if blogging makes someone feel that way. The blog should be about the person but the person shouldn't be about the blog..

Such perfect words - I feel like I am lots of different people, it all depends on the weather, my mood, my plan for the day - but whatever it is, I am always me and don't try to be any different! M x

  17. I so much agree with you doll! I already have to restrain myself at work, which makes me tense and under pressure. My blog is my getaway, dressing up is my passion and getting to know open minded people like you is the best part of blogging. Lots of love!

  21. Lovely quotes, and I quite agree with you of course! Oscar Wilde also said "Be yourself; everyone else is already taken" :) We'd love to lounge about in our pyjamas all day too, but it just doesn't seem as fun when you start sweating within ten minutes lol

  22. Love these! Always be yourself! Although it can sometimes be difficult to know who that is! ;) xx

    1. I think it's being as you are in any particular moment. I think the pressure to find ones self is too much. You are who you are at any moment in time & if you don't like who you are in that moment, you can change it. Oneself doesn't stay the same forever, we have the ability to always evolve and grow into whatever we choose to be. But, what we shouldn't do is be the person others want us to be just to fit in. Don't change our evolving likes or wishes to suit someone else. That's what being yourself is. We evolve change and discover new things, but as long as it's our choosing, then it's always being yourself ;) xx

  23. Lovely inspirations as always! I think sometimes people worry too much about fitting in that they forget how special being oneself really is.

Hope you're having a wonderful week!

  26. Kizzy, I don't blame you for spending that extra day with your family and enjoying those moments. If you don't, you'll never get those memories back. Good for you and glad everyone had a great time. I am loving your message for today! Girl you tell them!!! HaHaHa I'm definitely me on my blog, plus I talk about something different every day. Because like you, I get bored on one subject. Here's to shaking things up! Great post doll!

  28. I actually just said to someone how much I love all the friends I have now, and that one of the reasons I love them is that not one of them is afraid to be themselves! They wear what they want, and look like they want, and since that makes them feel comfortable, they can just relax and be the fun, intelligent, weird, artistic people they are! :) But I've had girls coming up to me, saying they wished the dared to dress as femininely as I do - or just wear red lipstick... You're very good at giving people the courage to be themselves. I hope they listen to what you have to say! :) <3 <3 <3

PS. You don't have to be shy in front of Elsa (of Grandmother's Pearls). She's a very sweet girl/crazy cat lady... ;)

  29. You are so right. You must always stay yourself. I'm glad I found out that I'm at my best when I'm myself :) ofcourse, I can change somethings, but I'm won't try to be something I'm not. Great words Doll! I really like the Quote of Einstein! Have a wonderful week.

  30. Kizzy! So good to come to your blog today, and always : ) You have such a sweet, tender, and loving voice that resonates with me! You are inspiring on so many levels! Gosh AND you are a mom too! I love the idea of celebrating our differences. I needed to see this post. I recently have encountered a lot of intolerance in my lovely city of santa cruz which is usually so open minded and it's nice to know that there are people out there that encourage individuality! Kindred spirit ; )

  34. So true my dear and I totally agree, ALWAYS be yourself. There are too many people in the world who try to dress or be like others. But, just be uniquely you, that's all that matters. Glad that you enjoyed your time off. xx/Madison :-)

  36. Ah, I love pj days!

It's okay to be different, I read loads of blogs where people wear things I would NEVER wear, not because I don't like it, it's more because it's not my style so doesn't suit me! It would be boring if everyone had the same outfit posts!

  39. Wonderful post my dear Kizzy! I am glad you had wonderful Easter days. It's so lovely how you encourage people to be themselves. Sometimes I do ask myself exactly this question too, but not because I wanna be somebody else, but because I am so many things. Sometimes it confuses me that I am a vegetarian graphic designer who likes to wear bright colours, crazy headwear and vintage, can't stop reading fantasy books and is really into the Victorian Age. And of course there are so many things more ;-) I think every human has 1000 facets and not every day the same facet is in the sunlight. For me the challenge is not to accept to be myself, but to accept every me. Have a wonderful week with a lot of love, xxxx

  45. Such great quotes, and such an important point. It does feels like we're so focused on what other people are doing, wearing, looking etc and how we can be more like them that we totally forget about ourselves. It's the ones that are brave enough to be themselves that are truly strong.

  50. I totally agree with you 100%. I understand that pressure some bloggers might feel to change themselves to get more attention. But then everyone starts looking the same and that's just no fun.
