Open your eyes & see the beauty...

Good Monday dolls, I hope your weekend was bliss. Mine was stuck inside mostly due to being unwell, both the husband and I were unwell all weekend and the weather was just not good. Rain rain and high winds, craziness. So, this is a different post than I had planned, but just some things that reflect my thoughts just now. Like what is success to you!?! This first image is spot on with how I feel, because in this world we tend to measure success with how much money someone has or big houses or popularity, but that doesn't really equate to success to me, it's more about what we ourselves deem as successful & not the world. Doing what you truly love & maybe not having much money can be successful to someone & I find that beautiful. You could be a famous blogger, but not anyone famous in terms of Hollywood, but that might be enough for someone & they deem themselves as a success. As long as it stays in YOUR terms and not someone else's, then you will succeed. Sometimes when we get knocked down, we think it's all over, but it's only over if you don't get back up. Sometimes we need to lay back and strengthen ourselves and then get up and out there and keep on moving & who says that you can't make that bumpy road glitter as you walk over it!?! It's all about perspective...clear your mind of cant's and fill them with positives, even if you fail or mess up, it doesn't matter, because you tried, you learned and you got back up to have another go. We all have dreams and hopes, but never let them be just that - reach for them, grasp them, take them and run with them & make this life all you want it to be!! Everything begins and ends in our hearts and minds...so fill it with possibilities and determinations!! You never know where it will get you!!

Have a wonderful Monday dolls
xoxoxoxoxox

P.S. I had to share this video because it's one of the most beautiful videos I've seen in a long time..raw, simple and real! The 'guy' is actually a girl & she's like the most beautiful face ever...gorgeous!! I have a complete girl crush on her, haha! Erika Linder <3 I hope you listen to the words & let them in..because I think it's something everyone is looking for...love that will be there unconditionally no matter what or who we are!! Hopefully it plays for you wherever you are, if not just do a search in youtube :)

  2. Lovely images, and so very true. I think it is so important to do the things that make you feel happy inside. I know we can't all do that for a living, but for me money and status means nothing if you have no time for your family. BEst things in life are free and I truly believe that. have a wonderful day doll, and hope you feel better - and hubby too.

  4. Kizzy you're soo right about what you say in your post today. Success is many times related to material things. However in my opinion is much related with the way we feel, if we fight for our dreams and how we behave with people...
BTW that video has deeply moved me!! ;-)

  5. Thanks for your sharing your beautiful thoughts with of. I totally agree with you. Some say success equals money but I don't think that's the truth. Being happy is everything. I hope you and your hubby get well soon!! Wanted to watch the video but it's not available in my country.

  7. Wow darling! Mind blowing post! I would recommend you this book 'How Will You Measure Your Life'. It was written by Harvard Business School professors, and it focuses on switching our main life-targets to personal goals, and have them as a foundation of everything. I loved your take on that matter and couldn't agree more! :) Have a lovely week (PS. Hope you guys feel much better now!) Muah!

  15. Oh, your weekend doesn't seem to have gone too well then, I hope you're both already on the mend.

Great post and I try to generally listen to "my inner voice" and measure my own success in terms of where I have been and how far I've come since, but I'm not completely immune to comparison. I think it's "the curse of the internet" (for lack of a better word) that somebody else's much greater successes are only a mouse click away and on a bad day, it can feel like I've achieved very little in comparison. In short, I'm still working on seeing myself as the only benchmark for my own success. Hope that makes sense... Have a good start to the week, hope you didn't get affected too much by the storms xo

    1. Not as good as I hoped for, but it was ok. All makes sense to me doll, and I think its good. We need to listen to ourselves because when we listen to others and what they're doing, it only serves to make us doubt ourselves and what we've achieved!! I hope your week is going well so far xo

  16. Think I'm slightly in love with that boy/girl too! :) SO beautiful!!! This is what makes me wonder if we (heterosexuals) don't all have a bit of bisexuality hidden inside of us... Sometimes I find men with feminine features extremely attractive, and if I wouldn't have known the 'guy' in this video was really a girl I would probably have started googleing 'him' to see more pictures. Haha! Sorry to hear both you and Gorgeous Gavin have been sick. Hope you're feeling better now though! :) Kisses to both of you! xxxxxxx

  20. Ho Kizzy, hope you feel better today! I was a little "shaky" too, but took it easy over the weekend. That's just autumn - we have to adjust to the new energies. Summer was too short for me this year! But you managed to put up this lovely post here which is success too! Have a fun and cozy new week - take care!

  21. That's where a lot of people go wrong! They look at what other people have. There are so many with so much and still not happy. So you can't use that as measurement. Success is different for everybody. The measure of success is different to all. Beautiful post Kizzy. Hope you and your family feel better soon.

  26. This is such a beautiful post! Feel better soon dear, and success for me also is not measured by how much money you have as a result of your work. Success is something we feel within ourselves as we achieve our own accomplishments that we strive for. For me success is truly a feeling inside each of us, while lots of others often associate the amount of money you make doing your job with success. I consider reading an email from a random blog reader that is asking me to work with them as success as they see appreciate the job I am doing and see the results and see I love what I do. That is success to me. Have a good day and I thank you so much for always taking time to stop by and visit me. :)

  33. Hi Kizzy. I once watched a documentary about some of the oldest people in the world. There was a very very old man who's home was a single room dirt floor hut for the whole family. He seemed to spend his days sitting on the ground. When they interviewed him, he looked around and said "I've got everything I need" with a big smile. He obviously had a wonderful relationship with his family. To me, that's the best success you can have. sparkle2day.com

  43. Very true. Everyone's idea of success is going to be different, and success doesn't always equate to profound or lasting happiness. For years, my parents and I have clashed on what it means to be successful, which is kind of how I turned out the way I am. I believe if you are happy and are a good person and you are doing what makes you happy then that is your success. My parents definitely believe that success involves having an education, having a house, and having a family. It's just the way they are. It is definitely also true, that successful people kept getting back up after mistakes or failures and kept trying. -Jess L
