1000 Heartbeats...

Happy Wednesday my beauties!! Some weeks ago, I was asked by Jessica, if I would take part in the 'Heartbeats in the Streets' campaign. It's in honour of a beautiful girl named Lauren. She was 25 when she was told that she would have to face her own death, she had incurable heart disease. Needless to say this changed her life immensely. Jessica followed Lauren's blogs and admired her determination and motivation to make her mark on the world & after reading them, I'm left in admiration to. Lauren got accepted into art school & continued to uplift others despite having to take lots and lots of pills.
When Lauren got accepted into art school, she began her own project called '100 Heartbeats'. She made small medallions that read, 'My heart beats in these streets' and glued them in her favourite places - wherever they may be. She had a goal of 100 of these medallions in the streets of New York, in hopes that by doing so, her heart would remember the good times and heal itself seeing as modern medicine couldn't.
Lauren made it to day 93 of this year before sadly passing away. Jessica wants to continue this project on in Lauren's memory and help her reach her goal. We would like people anywhere and everywhere to join in and help to gather 10,000 photos of people holding a heart with something they love written on it to raise awareness for heart disease. Jessica plans to gather all the photos together & publish them in a book when enough photos and donations are received.
I was happy and honored to have been asked to participate in such a humbling and moving dedication to a blessing that was taken far too soon, but left her mark on those who knew and loved her and even on those who sadly never got the chance to. Life is so precious and can go so quickly...how will you leave you mark in? Maybe you want to help Lauren succeed in hers!?! There is no obligation to, but if you felt you wanted, you don't even need to have a picture of yourself, it can just be the heart. I think it's a wonderful idea & hope to see the goal reached & surpassed for Lauren. Maybe even blog about this too, the more that know, the closer we will get to reaching & even surpassing her goal, thank you :)

Have a wonderful day my dolls
Lots of Loves

  1. It´s quite sad but heartening the story!! Life is really short and we sometimes spend too much time thinking and doing things that really don´t matter that much!

    1. Yes, most would give up because we don't know what hard is until we have nothing else but to be strong. Few will have to face this, so it's important to empathize and find understanding and help others when we can :)) Thank you xx

  42. So sad, and so lovely at the same time... Am glad Lauren found something to live for during her last time on Earth, instead of just despairing over her own fate. She was one of the strong ones, and surely made a huge mark on the world before leaving it! I hadn't heard of her before reading this tho, so now I have to look through her blog too! I wish we could all cherish our time here as much as she did... <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
