3 Pretty Things & Beauty Bits!!

Hello my darlings!! It's finally Friday & we're also into a new month...now all I need is the sunshine to come back...maybe May thinks it's still April..not sure! I thought I would end with some pretty things I loved this week & also some beauty things I was tagged in. I hope that all of you have a marvellous and fun weekend!!

Loves & Loves
xoxoxo

3 Pretty Things

1. These mega shoes from UNIF Clothing. I love these jelly shoes to bits, they would look so quirky with my vintage dresses. I love to mix styles, eras and such, so these are perfect!

2. This amazing fascinator seen first on dear Sara's blog  (you should be reading her blog, she has crazy style - amazing) - This was created by The Headmistress - you can see more of her work here. I love them so.

3. This ensemble by Manish Arora Fall 2012. I would like to wear it - pretty much every day (joke) The skirt part looks like something futuristic..so marvellous!

Also, I was tagged by Rosemary from Rosemary of Elephants to do a beauty tag, so this is my dear dainty answers:

1. Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners and lip products, or lose all of your palettes and eye shadows?
Lose all my eyeliners & lip products - as I am sure I can make those things on my own, muaahahaha!

2. Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
Honestly, I could go with either, it's just hair to me. I've had my hair in all kinds of ways - very short or long. So, I wouldn't be bothered with either. Seeing people I know lose their hair to cancer has made me feel that way I guess.

3. If you had £500, would you spend this on clothes or make up?
So easy, clothes, clothes, gimme - I love buying clothes, haha!!

4. Would you rather only use one eyeshadow colour or one lip colour for the rest of your life?
Ooh...one eyeshadow colour...I can be sneaky & use various lipstick colours to make eyeshadow if I wish *wink*

5. Bright nails or nude nails all year round?
Bright nails all year round, nude nails make me sad, haha.

6. Would you rather never be able to use lipgloss or paint your nails again?
Never use lipgloss, I can wear lipstick and still paint my nails. Ahhh...see, not just a pretty face, using the brains ; )

7. Describe your perfect mascara. Have you found one?
Don't have a favourite mascara, I change my mascaraa lot, but I do enjoy what I'm using at the moment - which is Lancome.

8. What's your ideal coverage foundation?
My ideal is just one that evens out my skin tone but doesn't mask my face really, has a good SPF in it. I use Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation at the moment & I love it, just wished it had a SPF in it.

9. Favourite high street/drugstore beauty brand?
Boots No.7...I use a few bits from their line & they work just as great as the more expensive brands. Plus, when I buy stuff from Boots - especially from their own line, I get more points for my Boots card to spend later! *win*

10. Favourite high-end beauty brand?
I quite enjoy products from Dior - yes, give them to me!

11. Is there any make-up you can leave the house without wearing?
I can and do go out without any make-up on what so ever, so it's not a problem for me. I see make-up as just an extension to creating or being creative. I like to paint myself up and express my feelings, but I can easily just leave it alone and not wear any at all. It doesn't hide the real me. I think every woman should have the confidence in herself to feel beautiful without make-up & just see it as something fun to do, rather than a 'have to' in order to feel beautiful. Image below is from my Instagram - I have no make-up on (just lip balm) but I have furry ears and paws & furry ears and paws are awesome *wink*

12. What is your most cherished beauty product?
I would say my cleanser and moisturizer - if you don't take care of your skin, the make-up you put over it, can make your skin worse and the finish isn't as nice. I'm using Soap & Glory stuff at the moment, but I change products every so often, before that it was Neal's Yard.

13. What skin type do you have?
I tend to have combination skin, it can go quite dry in the winter/rainy seasons & more oily in the summer.

14. Do you always use the same skin routine or do you like switching it up?
No, I switch it up every now and again because my skin tends to become use to whatever I use and then it doesn't really help any more. But, having a skin care routine in itself is important & noticing when your skin is changing also, so you can adjust the products or foods your using & eating.

15. Top 5 beauty gurus?
To be honest, I don't really have any. I think you can find them anywhere, there are plenty of them in blogs & youtube. I just try stuff out for myself and see what I like. Kim from A Very Sweet Blog & Emma from Fluff and Fripperies have fantastic beauty blogs, they know a lot of products and brands & I've bought things they're reviewed/recommended & been very pleased. They're my two favourite Beauty Blog Queens!

16. If you could only buy one make-up brand forever, which would you buy?
I will say Urban Decay because it's the one brand that makes make-up that actually shows up on my skin tone and lasts all the day through. Most others just vanish. A close second or tie even would be Bobby Brown Makeup.

17. Which brand has your favourite packaging?
Oh most definitely, Anna Sui! Her packaging is dreamy and fairytale like mixed with vintage, I adore it so. I would buy any of her items just for the packaging even, so I can have it on display. Just amazing detail...I'll have it all & the clothes too, haha :)

18. Which do you apply first, concealer or foundation?
I don't even bloomin' use concealer, so foundation. :)

19. Name a make-up crime you hate.
Oh, dark lip liner with pale lipstick. Sometimes you barely notice it on people, as they blend it quite well, but other times it's just a no no. I remember it being really popular at school, but I just thought it always looked like those men that shave their mustashes really close to the lip line. LOL!

 Quick fire:

Blush or bronzer?
Blush, since I already naturally have my own shade of bronze skin.

Lipgloss or lipstick?
Either, I use them both, just depends on the brand as not all of them are made the same.

Foundation or concealer?
Foundation - obviously - see above.

Brushes or sponges?
Brushes.

OPI or Essie?
Hmm..not sure, as I've not used Essie enough to make a well informed choice, but I do enjoy OPI, so I'll pick that one.

Lotion or body butter?
Lotions in the spring/summer & Body Butter in the Autumn/Winter time.

So there you have it babes,
Enjoy your weekend!

  1. Wonderful post dear:) I really like your answers, they're similar to what I would answer myself. I think my make up philosophy is the same to yours, I see make up as something fun but not as something as I need to do (quite often I have no make up on and I feel perfectly comfortable that way). I also enjoyed seeing your selections of pretty things...jelly shoes make me think of my childhood, that fascinator is a dream and the futuristic skirt is adorable!

  7. I missed that photo on your instagram - you look absolutely adorable!
I would also rather spend money on fun clothing than beauty products. I didn't realize Urban Decay had such staying power but I remember loving their eye shadow years ago and it did last a while. I'll have to look into it again!

  13. i do love these types of posts! i haven't used a lot of dior products but i do love their mascara. it's always a splurge for me to pick one up at sephora! and i agree about going out without any makeup. i used to not be able to do that but now i'm comfortable without it. my only gripe is all the acne scars i've been getting with adult acne! but i've found that the lemon/honey/sugar scrub i made at home has actually made some of the scars lighter which was pretty neat! have a great weekend!

And the "blush vs. bronzer" answer was so great! I have to say ditto to that one too!

  41. Oh I enjoyed reading your responses. You look absolutely stunning in your no make up picture! You don't even need make up. You are right when you say make up is an art and that make up is just an extension of the creativity inside you. I totally agree. But some people need make up to cover rather than enhance, but you just have nothing to cover! Hope you're having a lovely weekend. Rosemary x
