| The Powder Room | Montagne Jeunesse Black Rasberry Body Scrub Review!

Hello dolls, happy Monday!! Sorry for the delay in a new post, the past week was super busy and left me seriously exhausted. But, after some sleep I'm back, lucky thing now is my girls are off for a couple weeks, so I won't have school runs to do & I can concentrate a bit more on the blog!!
Today, I wanted to share my thoughts on this body scrub I bought recently from TKMaxx. It's not usually a place I buy beauty products from, but I randomly browsed the section & found some beauty products that I've never really seen in the stores I regularly go to.

One of them being this Black Raspberry Body scrub  (which seems to have suddenly vanished from their website) from Montagne Jeunesse (recently renamed 7th Heaven), I'm a big fan of their face masks (a pile of which I still need to share on the blog) and since I've been in need of a good body scrub, I thought I would give it a try. My skin has been up and down with all the pregnancy hormones combined with the harsh winter season, I thought a lovely scrub would be a great renewing for the spring time that's coming.

My first thoughts with every beauty product I buy is, 'I must see what it smells like' because if it smells horrible, I won't buy it. Especially right now being pregnant when aromas can mean a day in bed when they make you feel ill. But, let me tell you - if I could eat this stuff, I would!! It smells like the most delicious thing you've ever smelled! It's sweet...yet not sickening. It's refreshing just like fruit is meant to be. It's jammed packed with juicy black raspberries & grape which are nature's potent and powerful free radical scavengers, crushed bamboo which helps to remove the dead skin cells. It made me think of picking berries where there were flowers nearby, such a delicious and beautiful aroma, very relaxing.

But, does it work you ask? Yes, it really does work, I love scrubs and always want a mean working one that almost feels as though your using sand paper (I'm weird, I know) and this is some tough stuff, you don't need to use a lot & you definitely don't need to use a lot of arm power either, it's very thick and non-runny. Very smooth whipped like texture, but you can feel the scrub working. I thought at first this might leave my skin very dry, but to my surprise it didn't, just felt smoothed and refreshed. Even after a few days, my skin still feels soft, I was waiting to have a reaction to this or my skin to completely dry out, but that hasn't happened. I even forgot to put moisturiser on straight away after my shower, but my skin didn't feel dried out, so I was thankful for that (though, you should always put a moisturiser on after a scrub - even oily skins too). For anyone worried about a strong scent being left on the skin...you need not to, it leaves a very faint fruity scent, not overly noticeable at all. I absolutely love this stuff and I'm glad that it's just as good as all the masks I've tried from them, as this is the first time I've ventured away from the face masks. I would definitely buy this again, it comes in a 200ml tub and because I only need a small amount at a time, at £6.49 (though, I paid £2 for it at TkMaxx) this was a bargain and will last me for a good while as I only use it once a week at the most. Just shows that browsing around in the beauty aisle at TkMaxx is worth it!! If you have a TkMaxx (or TJMaxx as it's called in America, I believe) be sure not to skip the beauty product isle, find something new to try! You can also check out the Montagne Jeunesse (Now known as 7th Heaven) website for more information & products!

With that, I gave this body scrub a Sizzling Heart  because it worked awesomely, smelled amazing and was a bargain.

(Rating scale: Sizzling Heart - Go & buy it, Hot Hot Heart - It's good, but not perfect, Lukewarm Heart - there were issues, I might buy it again, Frozen Heart - Do not buy, it was terrible)

I hope you have a marvellous start to the week dolls!

  1. We don't have TKMaxx here, but it sounds like a great place ;)
I love fruity smells on beauty products to I think I would like this. I am however very sensitive to body scrubs. I don't like the sand paper feeling at all.
But it seems to have worked well for you, so that's great!
Hope you have a beautiful week!
    Much love,

  13. This sounds lovely Kizzy! I need to know what I'm getting into with scented products before buying them as well. Who wants to put something that doesn't smell good on their body.
