Smile, Smile, Smile

Good Morning dolls! Happy Monday...I hope the weekend was great for you. I love to smile, sometimes at night when I lay my head down my cheeks are sore from all the smiling and laughing I did during the day, that's when I know it was a great day!! Sometimes in this world, people are so cold, we walk the streets and find it most difficult to crack a smile at someone, I find that quite sad. Smiles are powerful things, it can make someones day or even break their day if it is someone who wishes to see you destroyed. Sometimes smiling helps us to forget what is was that made us feel sad in the first place, if even for a few moments. I always challenge myself to smile at people even if they don't smile back (which usually consists of me sticking my tongue out at them as they walk by & then they usually end up smiling or laughing) but, it's a good feeling to smile at someone and have them smile back...we should challenge ourselves to do it more often :) Have a wonderful Monday!!

A House For An Art Lover

Hello beauties!! I hope your week is faring well so far!! I am doing grand, I feel quite great actually :) The weather has been up and down, but it has failed to dampen my mood any. I've been busing away with my girls and my books. This is another place I went to while I was away for the week, I have yet to finish showing you all the museum still, but I will get to that soon. I wanted to get this shorter post done first. This is a place I had been wanting to go for a long time now & it was really exciting to finally get to. As you know, I am a mega Mackintosh admirer & I enjoy seeing his work in real life. This place was designed by him, I just wish he would have lived to actually have seen it come alive. If you don't know who Charles Rennie Mackintosh is..see my post on him here! I hope you enjoy & have a super duper day!!

Loves and hugs to you all!!
xoxo

The House for an Art Lover is based on a design produced in 1901 by Charles Rennie Mackintosh with his wife, Margaret MacDonald. The building is situated in Bellahouston Park in Glasgow,Scotland. Construction began in 1989 and the house was finally opened to the public in 1996. Mackintosh's original designs were interpreted and realized by John Kane and Graeme Robertson (up to 1990) under Andrew MacMillan, with contributions by many contemporary artists. Original portfolio designs are displayed in each room to allow comparisons.
The house was originally designed for an ideas competition set by the German design magazine Zeitschrift für Innendekoration for a "Haus eines Kunstfreundes" (Art Lover's House). Despite disqualification due to late entry, the portfolio was awarded a prize for "pronounced personal quality, novel and austere form and the uniform configuration of interior and exterior".

{Silly me didn't realize the door had an exit sign on it at the time, but I kept the photo because after looking at it, I realized the rope across the doors combined with the handles, windows and sign above make a face smiling back at us all, haha!}

{This is the Oval Room - Mr. Mackintosh's favourite feminine symbol was the oval, it occurs in much of his work. The oval shape is carried through the walls to the cabinet and into the details of the fireplace and the light. Unlike the other principle rooms in the house, The Oval room is shown only in plan, without a detailed illustration of the proposed interior.}

{Sitting in the hallway booth, I loved these old fashioned style booths...Mackintosh was a genius, the light shining in on me}

{I would like to have this re-made for my house windows, it's beautiful. When I look at it, I almost see a figure reaching out to hug the rose on the right, it's wonderful}

Some things I bought from the gift shop..I love Art Nouveau style anything, so these earrings were a must & I love pins, brooches and that kind of thing too, so I bought these too..may go back for these others as well...the lady must have thought I was a tourist (since I'm American & my voice goes more American when I get nervous talking to someone new, lol) because she gave me a mega discount on what I bought, I didn't have to pay tax duties, woooo! Loved that :)

You're so weird!

Musique: The Doors - People are Strange

Happy Monday sweet ones!! I hope the weekend was bliss, I spent the weekend spring cleaning and organizing things. The weather was quite nice as well.  Running outside with my girls is always a pleasure. Weirdness...I am weird...and I like it! I am drawn to people who are strange or peculiar, who look peculiar or dress in a way that society deems as peculiar or strange. I've had readers here asking me to follow their blogs worried that I would think them weird because they don't look or dress like all the other blogs that follow trends or whatever...I tell you now, I don't follow trends, I don't give two cents to what is considered the 'now', I wear what I love and that's how it is....welcome to my blog...it is not the ordinary, be here and be yourself, I'm not interested in staying inside the lines. I talk to myself, I paint my face because I like to, I wear weird things and people stare (cause I am clearly awesome) but, I am always me & that is what I hope people that come here can find they can do - be themselves, no matter if your wacky or in the box, I enjoy all kinds of people, it's what makes the world interesting!! It seems the weirdest thing in the world today - is to be yourself!! So, let's all be weird & be just as we are!! Ha..have a super duper day gum drops!!

Love love love to you all!!

Pretty Little Things

Hiya dolls!! Happy Friday to you all. I was a bit distracted by the gorgeous sun outside this morning and didn't finish the post I had planned to show you, so I prepared this one instead, I've been on a tumbling adventure this week, lots of things seen that I was over the moon for, so I thought to share a bit with you today! If you want to see any others, you can always check out my tumblr where I post things that spark the imagination and get my creative waves flowing. A big hello to new followers (friends) here, welcome. I hope all of you have a marvellous weekend with plenty of sunshine!!

A Flower to Thee

{A flower floating for thee...gone from this place...a gift to me...now you are held in my heart...for there we can never part...}

Hello beauties! I hope you are well so far this week :) I'm quite well this week, been keeping myself busy with spring cleaning, it's refreshing to clear the clutter! The weather has been up and down, so I've been inside at times listening to music and catching up with my books, while enjoying the intoxicating aroma of my lilies that I like to have around my house. These are some more pictures I took while I was away, I had a bit of a break down beforehand and almost didn't go to take them. But, I'm glad I did as being creative in some way always gives me release and I needed it at the moment.  But, all is going grand for me now and I am ready for the sun of summer and sitting at the beach...who's with me!?! ;-) (I say it again - this girl is a sun baby) I hope you have a marvelous day flower petals & find some sunshine in whatever form it may arrive :)

Loves n' glittery things

xoxo
