Happy Friday dollfaces!! I hope you've had a wonderful week, as promised, this is the first of my posts to show a little of what I've been doing on my lil' two week break, which sadly will end on Monday! This is Dean Castle, it was quite a small low key one compared to the other castles I've been too here and to the others I'll show later. But, being American, I'll take any kind of castle no matter how long I've lived here, hehe! Hope you enjoy and don't mind the pics of me, lol!!
Have a great weekend!!

{Dean Castle (the building attached on the left is called 'Dower House) takes its name from ‘The Dean’ or wooded valley – a common place name in Scotland. The original keep dates from around 1350 with the Palace being added around 110 years later. Built by the Boyd family, it has strong historical connections with many people and events in Scottish history - Robert The Bruce who gave the lands to the Boyds, James III whose sister married a Boyd, the Covenanters - some of whom were imprisoned there, Bonnie Prince Charlie – whose rebellion was joined by the 4th Earl of Kilmarnock and Robert Burns who was encouraged to publish his poems by the Earl of Glencairn who owned the castle at the time. {Lion statue detail found in the garden - my daughter's favourite}
{This is why you don't let your husband have the camera so much, hehe j/k}
{I loved the flowers growing all over the castle and over the window}
{Shield over the door as you go into the castle}
{The courtyard inside, I loved the walk way detail on the right, I stood there imagining a princess walking along it and a prince stood down below and only knowing she was there by her silk robes blowing in the wind..but that's just me daydreaming again, hehe}
{Door detail...come inside}
{Armour Display - this pic came from the website as my camera battery was running low}
{The mighty sword}
{Hats for my collection ; ) It's beautiful}
{Hand guards for the Knights to wear}
{I don't know why, but I really wanted this shield, it's marvelous colour attracted my eyes}
{My necklace, we were outside eating our lunch}
{Horses & Donkies out on the castle farm - the donkey was loud and my baby daughter didn't like it}
{I wanted to take this floppy eared bunny home with me}
{And to end, my most favourite of Scotland..the Highland Cow or as it's said by Scots, 'The Heeland Coo'!! He is precious, I just want to hug him, hehe!!!
{All photos taken by me, except ones I'm in, taken by husband}
Looks like such a lovely place! And your family is beautiful. Enjoy the rest of your break, love! xoxo
