{Fairytales & Bubbles} A dance amongst the Clouds

Happy Friday peaches! I hope you have fared well throughout this week! I don't know where it went, all I can say is I am a sleepy doll and could do with a nap..But, alas tis the weekend..so I must have some fun..I can sleep when the world ends ;) Here are the pictures from the castle I spent the day at on my wedding anniversary (10yrs). We had a fantastic time, the weather held out for us and we strolled around the grounds. It's so peaceful, all you hear are the birds singing. There were tourists out playing bowls in the courtyard and the stewards working there are delightful, I adore their accents (The accents in Scotland, like any place vary from place to place and the Highland one is simply beautiful and soft). And what I found most interesting of all, is that this castle is reportedly haunted, haha..I love it! Will have to go again and see if I can discover anything..I did have strange feelings in the garden, but acchh..I'm sure it was nothing! Well, I hope you enjoy the pictures & wish you a gorgeous weekend! And I just wanted to say a lil' hello and welcome to my new readers/friends/dolls, I hope you are well!! So, for now, have fun cuties.

Happy Weekend!

A lil' History lesson

{An Inveraray Castle has been standing on the shores of Loch Fyne since the 1400s, although the impressive castle we know today was inspired by a sketch by Vanburgh, the architect of Blenheim Palace and Castle Howard in the 1700s. Vanburgh died soon afterwards, but the great architect's germ of an idea became the base of the house which the 2nd Duke was eventually to build. The foundation stone was laid in 1746 and what followed was the construction - to a design by the architects Roger Morris and William Adam - of a truly modern, baroque, Palladian and Gothic-style castle, architecturally before its time. Both Morris and Adam died before the castle was finished and Adam's sons, John and Robert, brought the castle to completion 43 years after the first stone was laid. The castle we know today was the result of a fire in 1877, which resulted in the addition of the third floor and conical roofs on the corner towers.}
