Secret passages
also commonly referred to as hidden passages or secret tunnels, are hidden routes used for stealthy travel. Such passageways are sometimes inside buildings leading to secret rooms. Others allow occupants to enter or exit buildings without being seen. Hidden rooms have helped people evade capture, smuggle goods, or carry out illegal activities.
Hiya sweeties! Many thank you's for birthday wishes. A rainy start to my week, after battling the cold, tiredness still takes over. I will spend the day resting. Rain pitter patters across my window, wind whistles its way through the leaves of trees as they sway back and forth like tall men fishing out at sea. I sit warmly wrapped up drinking tea and nibbling at Apricot and almond scroll, sweetness to the lips. Laughter from a child gently playing with toys that jingle like bells on Christmas. Mind wandering from one thing to the next, not able to concentrate on one....secret doors like secret gardens full of fresh blooms, I wish to run to...inhale the sweetness of flowers, chirping of birds, aroma of fresh dew on grass..alas Autumn rings..cold rain...caramel leaves stuck to the pavements...pumpkins coming out to play....books beckoning to be read....pictures to edit...purchased treasures to be put in their place. I hope you all have a magical Monday & week to come!!
Love, Love!!

Your today's post made me so melancholic! This evening I will be drinking my vanilla tea at my windowsill, accompanied by my favourite lantern with coconut candle inside, and looking at the full moon, listening to the soft, beautiful voice of Loreena McKennitt singing Tennyson's Lady of Shallot or Greensleeves.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I'd love to send you a gift: one of my crochet earrings you liked, I'm so grateful that you put lots of light into my life. If you would like please send me your address: me.incompris@gmail.com Have a wonderful week!

That picture is amazing, what a great secret room that would be to have in my house~!
ReplyDeleteWhere I grew up, there was a large forest that could only be entered through a certain path in a field, there was a beautiful spot in spring that I used to to always sit during the warm months, it was my little secret passage :)
xx
p.s. thank you for your lovely comment on my blog ^_^
Happy belated birthday! Similarly to you, I am fighting perhaps the same cold and feeling quite miserable! I love the secret entrance, quite the mystique!
ReplyDeleteThese doors remind me of my childhood and the books I used to read to escape to different lands and awesome adventures. Love love love.

Lovely description of a way to spend a rainy day! I especially love when you said "Laughter from a child gently playing with toys that jingle like bells on Christmas"- beautiful words I have never heard! Despite the lovely rain, I pray you are well by now!
