Hiya doll faces!! I hope you are grand!! So glad it's mid-week already, the weather has calmed down here. It's not as blistering hot, yet warm and there is a very pleasant wind blowing through, it's marvellous actually. I wish it could stay like this forever. My husband is away until Thursday night (he left yesterday), so we've been here on our own - girls just having fun..not as much really, we all quite miss the husband/daddy, we are his girls, so when he's not around we miss him terribly!! He'll be glad for the break, one man with three girls in the house, it's a lot for any male :)) I just put together some random photos that were taken throughout the days. Random moments of life, what I enjoy most. I hope you enjoy them & have a wonderful day dolls!!
xoxoxoxoxo
{Honey coconut cupcakes with caramel icing that I made...so yummy :))) I'll try and put the recipe up soon on my facebook page}
{Quote that was on the wall in the museum I was wandering around in...I quite liked it!
Camille Pissarro was a French painter born on the island of St Thomas (now in the US Virgin Islands, but then in the Danish West Indies). His importance resides in his contributions to both Impressionism and Post-Impressionism.}
{Crazy men out in the rain bowling, but I admit, I really want to do it too, it looks fun. I can always hear them shouting at each other, haha. I think I could beat them :))
Below, view from further away, the one to get their ball closest to the target wins and you can knock the others' ball out of the way, that's why you hear them shouting at each other sometimes.}
{A Nursing corset from the early 20th century. Cotton with steel fastenings. Looks comfy huh!?! ;-)}
{"The Harpy Celaeno", by Mary Pownall. From Greek Mythology . The Harpies were fierce, filthy, winged monsters who had characteristics of a bird and a woman, similar to that of the early Sirens. Their hideous faces of women with sharp claws mounted on the bodies of vultures inspired both horror and disgust. They could fly as fast as a bolt of lightening. I really wanted to take her home, she's a rather marvelous piece of work. From the Kelvingrove Museum}
{I was fixing my belt & my husband took the picture anyways, haha! But, the stream of light shining on me was nice. My daughter said it was my grandmother & father saying hello :)))) Which made me smile!!} {Dress and belt are vintage}
{Another world below. At the sea. My daughter said it was a friend of Spongebob Square Pants, I laughed. Kids say great things}

Lovely, inspiring photos! Love what your daughter said about that sunbeam. It might be true you know...According to Pissarro I am blessed - and I know that quote adheres to you too darling! :) xox
ReplyDeleteI spy a cute little floral dress that needs to make its way into my closet and some cupcakes that need to get in my belly now! Always love your photography...and the quote, priceless! Enjoy your day :)
ReplyDeleteI don't know where to start! So many random beautiful moments or thoughts captured. Ok, love the photo of you in your "joy" provoking dress. The dress and you are beautiful, and the stream of light is so heavenly. Your daughter is right! The cupcakes look, and sound, extremely tempting. I have successfully stayed on my "almost summer" weight loss. And those cupcakes make my knees weak. I believe I can smell them. I enjoy the sound of others having a great wholesome time. Watching the men bowl, and hearing their competitive fun rants would make my day. I would want to join in too. I can see the exquisiteness of art piece. I learned from you today--an art lesson. Thank you, Timbarika! Love it all. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThose buns look amazing Doll, they really look incredibly delicious, I'd do anything to taste one of those cupcakes right now haha. Great photos too, it's been overcast today here as well but it's very warm which is good enough for me, personally I like it like that, especially when sunburn has been raising it's ugly head on my body.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful thing for your daughter to say ...
ReplyDeleteWe need that cupcakes recipe!! M x
Kids really do say great (and sometimes strange) things. Love these little bits of your everyday life. :)

I also wanted to say that I really loved that pissarro quote. I think that I tend to embody that quote mostly when it comes to objects (as weird as it sounds) I always tend to see insignificant objects and imagine them as so much more.
ReplyDeleteThanks for a great post! I loved so many of your ideas and images!

PS. I also wanted to let you know how much your comment the other day means to me. I've been contemplating blogging about the situation for months, but finally got the courage the other day. It has been so painful. Something you said really struck a chord with me: women should be banding together instead of attacking each other. You have no idea how RIGHT you are. Imagine how much more amazing the world would be if your words came true. <3
Love all these glimpses into scotland Kizzy! I sure want to visit this magical country. Love your pretty dress too - just gorgeous!

that stream of light is symbolism kizzy! GOD is shining on you girl! Love your floral sundress. Too cute! Omg'd that Harpies statue is frightening! hahaha First the face and then those claws. Looks so real! I don't know how they wore corsets way back when. So uncomfortable. YOU could probably beat those guys! You're a woman! We beat them at everything! HAHAHAHA Great post!
