I love discovering new artists throughout my days and I couldn't have been more happy, than when I discovered this amazing girl. Olga Valeska is a 20 year old French photographer who creates dramatic and fantastical moods in her work. Most often, she herself is the model using her tripod to capture the images. And, I must admit these are the ones that grasp at me the most. These magical, romantic and marvellously moving pictures. It's quite clear that her influences float in the realms of symbolism, romanticism and fantasy. I read that one of her favourite quotes is from Novalis, an author, philosopher and poet of early German Romanticism. I really think it sums her works quite well: “To romanticise the world is to make us aware of the magic, mystery and wonder of the world…” I'm enthralled and wouldn't mind spending time in these worlds anytime at all.
Olga Valeska has received a Silver award from Dabomba for her unique and creative talent. You can find her on Facebook, and Flickr.
Enjoy dolls & have a super day!!

Beautiful!!! Some people say you shouldn't romanticize the world, but just see it as it is. Wrong!!! Cause the world IS romantic! And it's when you try to see the beauty in it, by actually romanticizing, you can actually manage to pull away the heavy drape of normal greyness and find the magic beneath! Thank you for yet another lovely post! Now I feel ready to head off to work! :) xox
ReplyDeleteWould love to spend some time in those worlds too. These images are quite magical.
