To Thine Own Self Be True...

Hiya darlings! I hope you are feeling fine this Monday :) My weekend was bliss really, the weather was marvellous, sun shining, birds chirping...magic!! Also the football (soccer) started again here, so my husband was extra happy for that, haha :) Also, my new vintage dress that I bought as part of my birthday (in September) came & I love it...fits perfectly like it was made for me :))) But, alas I don't get it until my birthday, haha. But, I can still look at it & create an outfit out of it...that counts, doesn't it!?! ;-) Sometimes we find it so easy to compliment others because we believe they have something we lack, without even realising that the uniqueness we possess already, is just as equal to someone else! Sometimes we have to put those blinders on, the ones that stop us from comparing ourselves to the people we see & just appreciate the gifts and bodies we've been given. We are creations...masterpieces....works of art! We live, we breathe, we are the only people on Earth that will ever be ourselves & that is unique & something, if not everything to celebrate. I know sometimes we're given things that drastically set us apart from others, but it's a test of character as to how we deal with those....like the...if you get lemons...make lemonade sort of thing. So...the next time you start to compare yourself to someone else...imagine what the world would be like to those that love you...if you were never brought into this world...everyone is a gift to someone....even when we don't realise it...so love yourself!!

Have a great Monday

People often say that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder," and I say that the most liberating thing about beauty is realizing that you are the beholder. This empowers us to find beauty in places where others have not dared to look, including inside ourselves.

I'm with your husband in being happy that the football is back, who does Gavin support? Here's hoping it's the mighty Chelsea! :P

  12. Yes we are all awesome, regardless of our personal traits and characteristics! Sometimes it's hard to love on ourselves and embrace who we are. This is the perfect reminder and I may need to pass it along and share...especially on a Monday morning! Enjoy your day and here's wishing you an amazingly inspired week:)

  14. This is so touching. I always compare myself with people and a lot of times it hurts. I'm beginning to love myself even more because I am beautiful, talented, amazing and simply the best at being me. Thank you for reminding me that.

  19. What lovely words to start off the day with. Too often, we need to be reminded that we are all special in our own ways and that before you can love anyone else, you must learn to love yourself. It isn't any easy feat...in a world where people can sometimes say and do things that are hurtful. But, if you work at it and become comfortable with yourself, it is easy to leave behind those who do not appreciate you for who you are. :)

  20. Thanks for the reminder Kizzy! Unfortunately sometimes people may give love to others and not really appreciate themselves! We all need to remember that love starts there!

  34. This is the best blog post! Kizzy, your message is so beautiful girl. More people need to LOVE themselves more. I wish I could spread this to everyone around the world. When I was younger I would always compare myself to others and try to be like them. I'm a lot more comfortable with who I am as a person. Blogging has helped also. You are so right about Benefit! It's very tricky when trying to match a shade or you have to result to matching 2 or more items. Kizzy, I'm so glad you had a delightful weekend. I can't wait to see your dress. Ooooh Birthday in September! Party Girl! HaHaHa Have a great week my friend!

  48. Good words everyone needs to hear, because for some reason it IS so hard to see our own inner beauty, and love ourselves. Self confidence is hard to build, and easy to break down...But I know we feel better in pretty dresses, so I'm glad you found that one for your birthday! :) The corset I got for MY birthday, I had found and ordered myself. But since it was from my parents, I had to wait till my birthday to get it too. But I also started planning an outfit beforehand - for that burlesque party I just blogged about! :) xxx
