Follow me...as we ride through the cold hills enclosed by trees on a carriage pulled by horses through the snow...
You wander through the sleeping gardens as we head to the imposing castle walls welcoming us in, the only sound heard is our crunching footsteps and pounding hearts of awaited excitement...
Your gift, the enchanted "Bonbonnière Egg" from the 1900's, decorated with gold laurel swags, gold bows, diamonds and rubies, thought to be lost forever, but little did they know, you had sailed to the ends of the earth and rescued it from evil pirates who sought to destroy it and sell it's jewels for petty money, not knowing of it's truth worth. For you see, it was a gift, once given between two loves. They were to be separated cruelly by the ocean & reunited only after a long time had passed. Hidden inside this precious egg was thought to be a diamond surrounded by the most amazing pearls, a jewel no one had ever seen before, but that was just a myth...what was really in there were the collected tears of these two loves...those shed in one another's absence, as the heart longed for their return. Only such a beauteous outer shell as this, was worthy of beholding what cannot be replaced & has a value too high to measure. When they found each other again, they placed the
tears inside & vowed to never part again...even after many happy years, when their souls left the earth, they were buried holding one another tight. You hoped that the spirit of this love would bless all who would gaze upon this rare treasure...

The great hall where the ball takes place, is the Hall of Mirrors. You cannot believe a place like this really exists. The music plays and you sway to and fro with your love, spinning in wonderment of what is here and what might be found beyond the great doors....
Musique: Beethoven - Piano Concerto No. 5 in E- flat major. Op. 73
Musique: Beethoven - Piano Concerto No. 5 in E- flat major. Op. 73
As the ball carries on, your curiosity cannot hold back any longer, you need to wander it's halls, you need to follow those haunting sweet voices that call out for you...wandering further & further away in awe of what you see, memorised and enraptured by this Gothic wonderment, it's arches bow to your presence & whisper, 'Do not be afraid, I will protect thee, please come through'...
Over and over you pass wondrous pieces of art, like this Rodin...two bodies wrapped in love, finding solace away from the harsh elements of the world. Your eyes cannot believe the riches you are encountering, in a world you thought only existed in the depths of your innermost thoughts and dreams.
Just through one of the grand arched windows, you spot the snow falling, it feels like a fairytale from inside this wonderland. You smile gently as a cold shiver tingles through your spine at the thought of dancers in the moonlight as the snow falls over their pirouettes...
The night draws on from one room to the next...until you come to this one...it feels as if it was waiting for you to find it. The enclosing surroundings remind you of how tired you are after this amazing night. You go to leave, but can't resist the warm fire & inviting bed. You think to yourself, 'What is this place'? But, your too tired to answer. The warmth sinks in, soothing you from your head to your toes....
Musique: Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata
The stars shine through the window...their twinkling motion sends you to sleep filled with happy visions...you smile contently, having had the best night of your life.... unsure if it's been real or all just the sweetest dream...

DeleteThis whole post is completely amazing! Everything you can see in these pictures, and every piece of music, are things I truly love! Thank you so much for the dedication love! And that story about the egg gave me goose bumps. I KNEW you'd have a good story for it! :D I almost feel like contacting some Fabergé experts and tell them the story about what happened to this egg has finally been revealed, so we can add this lovely tale to the history books! :) I remember seeing Narnia (the old version) when I was little. Afterwards me and my sister went through every closet in my grandmother's house to see if we could find a way through...I'm still looking... :) <3 <3 <3
ReplyDeleteAhhh Kizzy what an amazing trip with you - love it!!!
