Be-You-Ti-Ful Mondays!

As a society we're constantly bombarded with images and media that tell us we need to look better, dress better, but there isn't enough telling us to love better, feel better, give better. They tell us, if you look like this small twig over here, you'll feel better than this bigger twig over there. If you wear this trend here, you'll be so cool compared to if you wear last years trend. What we need more of is, you'll feel great if you wear what you love and take care of your body in a healthy way because it's the only one your getting and it deserves your love & care! And why are there so many people - women especially falling for this mess!?! We need women to stand together, instead of tearing each other apart & take on the world. We weren't put on this Earth to live up to anyone's standards, but our own. We all deserve love no matter who we are, where we come from or what we may have done in our lives. As we women,  we need to empower ourselves from the inside out, because you won't find it in a piece of clothing - that only enhances & expresses what's on the inside. And for those that go around thinking that designer dress or shoes they wear makes you great, it doesn't. Take all that away & what are you left with!?! A hollow casing, with nothing else to give because you didn't take the time to fill yourself with the things that matter most. We all deserve to walk out of the door and feel absolutely amazing and not give two thoughts about what someone else might say...build our armour of self assurance because we know we're worth more than our outsides, we're strong minded, intelligent beings who can make a difference in the world!! I hope you take the time to love yourself today...just the way you are!!

Have a great Monday!

“Being tender and open is beautiful. As a woman, I feel continually shhh’ed. Too sensitive. Too mushy. Too wishy washy. Blah blah. Don’t let someone steal your tenderness. Don’t allow the coldness and fear of others to tarnish your perfectly vulnerable beating heart. Nothing is more powerful than allowing yourself to truly be affected by things. Whether it’s a song, a stranger, a mountain, a rain drop, a tea kettle, an article, a sentence, a footstep, feel it all – look around you. All of this is for you. Take it and have gratitude. Give it and feel love.” -Zooey Deschanel

You can be the most beautiful person in the world and everybody sees light and rainbows when they look at you, but if you yourself don’t know it, all of that doesn’t even matter. Every second that you spend on doubting your worth, every moment that you use to criticize yourself; is a second of your life wasted, is a moment of your life thrown away. It’s not like you have forever, so don’t waste any of your seconds, don’t throw even one of your moments away.” C. JoyBell C.

People always ask me, ‘You have so much confidence. Where did that come from?’ It came from me. One day I decided that I was beautiful, and so I carried out my life as if I was a beautiful girl … It doesn't have anything to do with how the world perceives you. What matters is what you see. Your body is your temple, it’s your home, and you must decorate it. We need more of this and less “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels”’

  1. It's tough when we're getting bombarded on a daily basis with images of how we're supposed to look etc. and trying to not be influenced is near-on impossible. Strangely enough, this is one where men can't be blamed as - in my experience - women are far more judgemental and bitchy about other women than men are... Anyway, it's a lovely and very positive post for a Monday morning and we should all (me included) remember these things more often. Have a lovely week ahead xo

  2. Hello:
If you are at one with yourself, and have inner contentment which brings with it a peace of mind, then the rest matters not at all. Or so we believe. And how we are certainly has nothing to do with riches or designer clothes, or anything else come to that.

  3. Hi there doll, I just love these inspirational words, Especially the quote from Zooey Deschanel and Marilyn. Don't hide your beauty or your voice, that's what I learnt growing up. Beauty comes from within. Wishing you a wonderful week. xx/Madison

  11. lovely empowering post. i really love the quote from zooey too. being a good person is of course what is post important. but i do think fashion is fun and i think dressing how u want and feeling great in it is the best feeling - when you are able to dress for yourself and be who you want - if it happens to be designer it should not matter. and you are right at the end of the day we should be empowering ourselves and women should not be fighting amongst themselves. beauty comes in all shapes and sizes :)

  15. you are deffo right sweets, our attitudes matters a lot, hummmm.. that's so true wearing designers does not make u look pretty outside and inside lol, its takes a person with great knowledge and sense of style to manage fashion or else you will shop till you drop, maybe this is why i adore vintage and lurv to mix, cause i still got loads of old clothing in my wardrobe which i find same styles in stores :) they tell us what to wear and trends cause they wanna make money out of our pockets and we end up buying junks that's just the simple truth.
    happy monday sweets.

  29. A great message my dear. The quote I love the most is : "You are enough just as you are", because we don't have to live by ANY standard, not even ours. We just have to be who we really are and let go of any self-judging impulse. Or at least let's try! Thank you for this! Lots of love and have a great week my love!

  32. I love all these quotes! I completely agree, women need to accept who they are and love themselves! Who cares if someone doesn't like what you look like or why you wear certain things. I try to tell my daughter this everytime she tells me how girls make fun of her because she is more energetic and outgoing. We need to be confident in everyway not just outside but inside! Good post! xoxox happy Monday to you!

  33. I'm currently reading "One Good Deed a Day" (it's more like a journal) but I checked off "Be good to yourself" yesterday. It's so easy to criticize and get down in the dumps over petty things. It's best to celebrate who you are with what you have and move on!

  35. Wonderful post. I have spent 26 years working in the medical field ~ as a Nutritionist, Birthing Instructor, and now Dermatology .. Women ARE SO hard on themselves and they set unrealistic goals and objectives when it comes to their bodies. We are also (as a whole) afraid of aging. I am over 50 and I hope to help women realize that you can be beautiful at any age and with the body shape you are born with. Media has made it difficult for women .. and that's unfortunate.

    1. I think we all struggle with that one at some point in life because we try to live up to too many expectations, including our own, instead of just accepting ourselves as we are. We're all deserving of love & happiness :) xx

  45. This is all so true! But why is it so difficult? In Sweden we have a thing called the "Jante Law". It's just a hypothetic "law", but it describes Swedes very well...According to it you're not allowed to think you're better or more beautiful than anyone else, or be richer or more successful than anyone else etc...Since we grow up believing this, it's difficult to change. And if you're brave enough to brake this law, there will be haters... ;) One who REALLY has broken this law is Mrs. Murphy - whom I did a blog post about last week. Everything in her life went really bad for awhile, and she felt so bad she ended up in a bathtub, crying, and cutting her arms. But at that moment she "woke up", thinking what the f am I doing? Now she has the words "I'm fabulous" tattooed over the scars on her arm, and even if Mrs. Murphy is just a made up persona she uses as a brand, Malin (as her real name is) really lives as Mrs. Murphy! She always looks like a million bucks, has a chandelier hanging from a tree in her garden (during summer) and uses empty champagne bottles as toilet paper holders in her bathroom! Haha! When I feel grey and boring I think of her, and then I pain my lips red! :) xxx

  47. That's very true Kizzy! At the end of the day, all you have is YOU. And you must love yourself both inside and out. Without the clothes! Without the makeup! Etc! STUFF will not make you a happy or good person. More need to realize that.

  49. What an awe inspiring post, Kizzy and there is loads of truth in what you say. I learned a long time ago that you must first learn to love yourself before you can love anyone else and while it might seem easy nothing could be farther from the truth. It takes a lot of courage to love yourself enough to sometimes be the butt of jokes and lose friends and in the end it can sometime cost you more than you can imagine. Is it worth it, indeed it is! Because in the end you're all you have. Be the best that you can be and love yourself for it.

  55. I love Zooey Deschanel! Such inspiring words....I think as humans, we inherently want to progress and be "better"...Plus while we want to love ourselves the way we are, we fuel this obsession with being "perfect" and beautiful... But you are, nevertheless, right, and we should strive for loving ourselves just the way we are.... Also models, singers, actresses have a lot of help looking their best, whether natural or unnatural....So maybe our sense of perfection is nonexistent anyways....and that is why we'll never live up to it...Point is, you are so right. ;) -Jessica L

  56. I've always struggled with body image issues, in that I thought that having a big Latino butt made me look fat. lol But then one day I decided to accept my figure and I've done so much better since. I stopped insecurities stop me from wearing cute clothes I always wanted to wear. Like colored skinny jeans. lol :) And lo and behold, the love of my life happens to love my butt just as is. So really, I was being silly after all I guess. :)
