{Happy Friday} Good friends are sometimes all you need

Hello darlings, happy Friday to you!! Some time before Christmas, I received a wonderful big box from a dear friend, fellow blogger, Kim from A Very Sweet Blog! She kindly took the time to gather up some goodies for me from America as a little care package. For those of you that don't know, I'm American, but have lived in the UK since the end of 2000, so it's always so nice to get things from America, makes it like going home for a while :) Well, Kim is one of those rare people you find in the world today, that goes out of her way to spread kindness & care to her friends - A Very Sweet Kim is what she is ;) She is one of my favourites and it was so nice to see a big box at my door and venture into all the goodies she packed for me. I have been doing the same for her...which I am about done with now, haha! I had some special things I needed to wait for. But, here are some pictures of the things she graciously sent to me...I have enjoyed all of it. I just want to say a HUGE thank you to Kim for being such a special, kind-hearted friend & for going out of your way for me, to send so many lovely things, which we are still enjoying! We love you dearly! I recommend highly checking out her blog and saying hello...unlike very few blogs here, she's one that strives to become friends with her readers and not just push for higher numbers and shallow things like I've seen in the blog world, but something more real and genuine!!

Have a great weekend dolls, have fun.
xoxoxo

My box...you can see my youngest's hands reaching to try and open it, ha!

Pecan Pie...I also had Sweet Potato Pies as well....but well...they went missing before the photoshoot, I swear! ;D Haha. AMAZING - best things in the world...loved them!!

Loretta's Authentic Pralines - New Orleans....so good. Melted in your mouth, yum! Underneath was the tin Kim put in them for Christmas.

My little reindeer socks, so cute. I'll wear them even if it's not Christmas any more because his little face makes me smile :)

This is SERIOUSLY the best lotion I have ever witnessed....am obsessed with this stuff now. As soon as I opened it, I was hooked. It comes from the marvellous Margarita Bloom, who creates some of the most tantalising potions you've ever witnessed. This pink cotton lotion that comes from the Aphrodite - Goddess of Love range, will have you floating down the street as if you were Aphrodite herself. Truly, I kept moving around, just so I could smell it in the air. Even in a stressful day, the intoxicating aroma was enough to take me far far away to some warm island where the water is bluer than blue and the sun kisses your skin. I can't get enough of it...I will most definitely be placing an order for more from this range and some treats from the other ranges to. And best of all, they are as sweet as sugar, so do say hello on their Twitter or Blog too.

Cheetos...I used to eat so many of these as a kid, my hands would be stained orange for days, haha. Not the healthiest for you, but I just eat some here and there and there ;D

These are my favourite sweets since a child...they were also my Father's favourite sweet (he passed away when I was 3) so they have special meaning to me & it was grand to have them once again. So good, love the watermelon ones :)))

Starburst sweets, I would go through packets of these during school - even though I wasn't suppose to eat them in class, but their mega. You can get them here though, but they taste slightly different to me.

Brown Sugar & Fig shower gel, body lotion and body scrub....smells so amazing. So sweet and lovely. Makes your skin feel super soft as well. Have always loved Bath & Body Works, but they don't have the shop here, just the Body Shop. Although, there used to be one in Edinburgh many years ago, but it got closed down.

Chocolate Alligator from the Blue Frog Chocolates shop, it's marvellous. I am a huge chocolate fan, so anything chocolate is just dandy with me. Kim featured them on her blog before & I had wondered what the chocolate there tasted like & now I do. A BIG thumbs up from me, a must to check out their site & if your lucky enough to be in New Orleans at any time, be sure to venture in there and have yourself some tasty treats....or the gators might get you ;D

Now, I can make myself some red beans and rice, which I always enjoyed growing up in the states. It was a staple in my house, haha. I'll do another post on it when I make it and take pictures :))

I hope you have a great weekend dollipops!

  2. Hello Kizzy:
What a very generous package of 'goodies' from Kim. The items were obviously chosen with care and, given your American background, they must have brought back particularly warm and happy memories for you.

The generosity of fellow bloggers never fails to amaze us. This is a most supportive community and friendships made in this virtual world can be every bit as wonderful as those made in the real world we find. We shall go over to Kim and take a look!

  13. I wish there were more people like Kim in this world - the GENUINELY sweet ones, who doesn't just do kind things because they want something back, like more blog readers for example... ;) I already follow Margarita Bloom, and have been thinking about ordering some of her things. But so far I haven't gotten to it. Think I might have to now... :D xoxoxoxo

  16. These are all amazing - it must be such a taste of home to get a wonderful care package like this! I'm with you with the Chee-tos - I used to let my hands turn orange as a kid and then lick off all the cheese. That was the best part! :)
Brown Sugar & Fig is my FAVORITE scent - there are many times where I skip perfume and just use that because it's so wonderful and sensual without being overbearing.
Love this post and your photographs, darling! Happy weekend, xox
