After much time of keeping this treasure to myself and sporadically sharing her work on Instagram & other social media pages, I thought it was time to share her on the blog. Isabelle Menin is an artist that first started with painting and illustration only to eventually move into photography after a decade. She was drawn to the compelling challenges of digital photography. Finding her subjects in nature, flowers are a consistent theme in her work.
She combines stunning organic forms with a modern technical method. She manipulates the texture and colour by photographing individual flowers, scanning other fragments of nature and putting them together so they 'dance' into their unique formations. Her work has graced the most famous Louvre as part of the exhibition 'Fotofever'.
Isabelle says that, "Going digital allowed me to push back my limits, to find a much wider sphere of activity where things tied up fluidly and were reversible". I for one am so madly in love with all of her work, so full of feeling and wonder. I find myself almost swaying with their movement, engulfed by their whispers, lost in a land of mystery and enchantment. I just adore flowers and the song they sing, Isabelle's creations have been like a light in this grey winter for me. I hope you love them as much as I do, be sure to see more on her website. Have a wonderful Monday dolls!
