| Unicorn Magic |

I'm often asked from various people where my love of unicorns came from. Some assume it just came around when it became a fashion trend to like them, but that's not right either. If you were growing up in the 80's like I did, would know the movie Legend with Tom Cruise. Well, I was in love with the movie & the unicorn in it. I also loved the cartoon movie The Last Unicorn. I just thought they were magical and had to be real somewhere in the world, even if us humans didn't have the capacity to see them.
My room growing up was covered in unicorns & I collected everything I could find with them on it. Unicorns have appeared in the mythologies of eastern and western civilisations throughout history. They are attributed with many magical qualities, unicorn blood and tears is said to be healing. The powder of a unicorn's horn is said to be an antidote for poisoning. Harry Potter's wand had a strand of unicorn tail hair in it. They are difficult to catch & can only be tamed by maidens. They are the symbol of ferociousness, freedom, power and speed & appear on many coat of arms and emblems. Like that of Scotland, who's national animal is the Unicorn & is featured on their coat of arms! I guess I live in the right country then *wink*
There are also nine references to unicorns in the Bible: Numbers 23:22, Numbers 24:8, Job 39:9 & 10, Psalms 29:6, Psalms 92:10, Deuteronomy 33:17, Psalms 22:21, & Isaiah 34:7. Though, some scholars believe the words could have been translated. But, for me whether they're real or not makes no difference. It's the hope and magic they give that's important. This world is so dark & negative sometimes...especially right now, shining a little light and hope is what's needed. And unicorns remind me of the good things in life & that when we let our goodness shine, we help make the world a better place! Have a marvellous day dolls.

xoxo

  6. That mug is adorable and I love these photographs of you posing with it. I knew you loved unicorns but I never really wondered why, perhaps because as a kid I also saw that film with Tom Cruise and it was a wow moments for me. I think that since there I've started noticing unicorns everywhere and just started to think about them more. I was always a lover of horses, so loving unicorns felt natural. I remember my parents bought me one unicorn toy when I was little.

Anyway, it was fun learning a bit more about unicorns....and you do live in a perfect country! Have a great week lovely!

  12. I have a confession to make - I think I'm the only person on the planet that doesn't like unicorns! Ha, to be honest I think that's stemmed from how they're so trendy right now and things like that tend to bug me?

Hope you had a lovely weekend :)
