Well, someone chain me up in any of these please!! I came across these wonderful pieces browsing around one day as I do and found Fannie's exquisite work. I'm big on inventive pieces, items that break the mold, make softer things look edgy, pieces that construct around the body, mold it and shape it. I also appreciate the use of materials one would find in their tool case...I love power tools and DIY you see :) Fannie is based in London, UK. She studied and graduated from the London College of Fashion, all her work is produced in the UK - another great bonus! Born in Sweden, she moved to the UK when she was 18 to study tailoring. She uses traditional methods of handicraft to develop her unique approach to her metal designs. She uses muted colours to keep the focus on the shape and design of each piece. Being quite drawn to androgyny, this helps in creating the clean lines and geometric forms. Her work allows versatility to make an ordinary outfit stand out. Her work is now stocked globally and she's recently been collaborating with other designers and majour brands such as Craig Lawrence, Alexander Vauthier, Swarovski and Diesel. Celebrities have also embraced her work & been spotted wearing them such as Katy Perry, Rihanna and Skin. I think these pieces are fun yet fierce, strong, yet moving, edgy yet protecting. My eyes were instantly drawn to them, I found myself wanting to run my fingers over them & put them on and walk out the door to somewhere fabulous. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!!
Have a wonderful weekend cupcakes!!
♥
P.S. thanks for all the sweet words on Tuesday's post & I forgot to add, that castle has a play park in it & there was a zip line too, that I happily went on - dress and all. I wasn't suppose to as it's a kid's park, but I figured since most kids are bigger than me anyways & no one was looking, I'd get on it (rebel that I am) I love those things, I want one in my backyard now :)))

Me like. Me like a lot! :) I'm not into S&M, but lately I've seen jewelry like this pop up here and there - and I LOVE IT!!! :) Especially those necklaces - or whatever you should call them - that goes from your neck down to a belt around your waist. The way Fannie makes them in hard metals makes her work stand out from the more usual creations like these. made out of pearls, or other "finer" materials. I love how in these photos the tough, yet beautiful, jewelry is paired with fragile nakedness! And yes, I would have gone on that zip line too... :D xxx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures!!!^^

Definitely a different designer, I've not seen so many chains from a line.
ReplyDeleteI had a very funny mental picture when you said that both Katy Perry and Rihana have been spotted wearing her stuff... lol That is, considering both of these actresses have blatantly OPPOSITE styles! ;)
ReplyDeletep.s. Thanks for another lovely post, dearie! :)
I'm all about the chains -- not so much about the boobs.
