{Artist} Thomas Devaux

As you know, I love beautiful things...that deep fondness for things that stop me in my tracks, that make my head lean to the side and wonder what on earth just happened to my senses. My heart beats quicker and I must, absolutely must go closer, look harder, let my being get disturbed, jolted and changed. Moments that linger long after I've looked forward or carried on my way and that's exactly what I felt the moment my eyes gazed upon Thomas' exquisitely imaginative work from The Macabre and the Beautifully Grotesque page. The way the images appear and disappear as if ghosts  dancing inbetween worlds. One doesn't know whether to keep staring or to look away, but what one does know is that it grasps your attention immediately and for me, I'm entranced.  I want one blown up huge on my wall so I can lay in the darkness and see it's shape change and evolve from what it is to what it might become when the lights go out.  This hauntingly stunning beauty that bellows toward the viewer captures the spirit. The movement within each piece that seems to come alive in front of you even though it sits stationary on paper. The sensuality and refinement is a treasure for the eyes and mind, I'm hooked.  One can clearly see why Thomas was the winner of the "Bourse Du Talent Mode 2011" organised by Photographie.com, in partnership with "L'Express, Nikon, La BNF et Picto". He was born in France in 1980 & lives and works in Paris. It's a must to view more of his works & I hope to one day see them in real life and experience them up close. You can see more at the links below, have a wonderful day darlings!!

  1. These are all incredible Doll and it's so hard to have a favourite although Le Douche is awesome, they're all awesome though, so mysterious and other worldly and just awe inspiring, thanks for sharing this artist.

  6. This is one of the reasons I love stopping by your blog, because it gives me the chance to learn about a new artist or talent. The work of this artist are a bit eerie with some darkness to them, but if you get passed that, they are quite beautiful. Happy Wednesday!
