Step behind the velvet curtains and take a seat on the plush chaise lounge waiting for you with something sparkling as we step back to the days of glitz and glamour...when getting ready was a long event and needed it's time to create a look of allure and fun....in this enchanted place we have delicate beadings, feathers and decadent lace...where the air smells sweet and seductive...secrets are told...laughter is heard...where women are women and no boys are allowed. Where the rich vibes of the 1920's can be heard through the gramophone...as images of Louise Brooks jumping jiving swim in the mind. Tantalising creations brought to you by your Boudoir Queen to excite the mind and enthrall you in wonder.
Who is the Boudoir Queen, you ask!?! It is only the ever stunning Dawn Younger-Smith, a wardrobe stylist & stage clothing designer, who started her career as a model, muse and make-up artist for the stars. She even modelled for the great Steven Arnold, who helped the amazing Salvador Dali with the creation & opening of Teatro Museo Dali in Spain - jealous much, I believe so!
The 'Boudoir Queen' name was created in 1997 with a client list that would make your eyes pop, she uses custom made fabrics and gems of antique textiles from Paris to create feasts for the eyes and cleverly mixes it with a dash of hard-edged rock n' roll for good measure...all ready and wearable for the dainty dolls at heart.
But, what I adore most about them is not only their evident decadent appearance, but the tattered fairytale that courses through the veins of each piece, showing how much love and passion has been infused in each thread. They embody for me, what fashion and personal style is all about, creating and being creative with clothes and expressing on the outside how you feel on the inside. And one could not help but feel luxurious and playful in any of her pieces. Even if wearing them for a party or like me - any day of the week, you couldn't help but knowing you'll be walking out of the door looking marvellous! I can only sit like a child with a happy sugar rush to see more and more creations & hope one day that I can open my wardrobe doors and find a wonderful Boudoir Queen delight waiting for me!! I hope with great care, that you will love them to as I love them. I really believe that talent and hard work should be recognised and even more so, when it all comes from a fantastical woman ;D
Enjoy my dollipops & have a wondrous day

A little tease of the treasures to find......
This is sooo you! They all look fantastic, but I couldn't pull any of it off - slightly too theatrical for me :-) Hope you're staying warm - it's bitterly cold here today! xo

These are great pieces, I love the feathered black hat! bit of fantasy. I used to repair and work at a 18th Century costume shop, so I really appreciate this type of craft, period, fantasy and all.

These ladies Doll are genuinely the definition of beauty, I love how different these clothes are from what society would define as beautiful. And I honestly believe with every ounce of my being that they are more beautiful than society's definition, I have massive respect for any lady who would be willing to buy from this range and wear it, they're going to stand out from the crowd so much!
ReplyDeleteI agree :)
DeleteOh, wow! So very beautiful. I really adore those sparkly tights.

Dear Kizzy, this is so wonderful. The pictures make me dream of being the Boudoir Queen myself for as second. Every piece is perfectly combined and the pictures look like made in the most beautiful fantasy world. I need to have a good look at their homepage too, but I'm afraid of their Etsy-page: If everything is as beautiful in the shop as on the pictures, I'l get lost there.
ReplyDeleteSorry that I didn't write for a few days. I just had a rough few days and still need to get a few unpleasant things settled. Then I just want to switch to Christmas mood. I like imaging that you do the same when school is over and I'm curious what movies you've got ready for your Christmas pick.
Have a day full of sparkles dearest! Love, Sara xx
By the way: Can I steal this sparkling tights? Since you showed sparkling tights first here, I am thinking about them.
Am happy you like it sweet girl...it's ok..I hope things get better for you doll!! Lots of love to you :) xx

The headpieces are amazing and look as if once you place them on your head you will be transformed into a stately lady! I love the third outfit with the sparkly tights (I think this is the only one I could pull off wearing) and how each design is full of feminine elements laced with vintage charm and textures. Enjoy your weekend and hoping that one of these outfits will make it's way into your closet soon:) (maybe for the holiday?!?)
ReplyDeleteHi Love,
