Find The Voice Within

Hello dolls! I hope the weekend was lovely for you! I'm going to keep this post short...my head is bit everywhere. I was ill all during the end of the week & am still recovering...I feel so drained. But, the worst news of the weekend, was a good friend lost her battle with anorexia. She had battled for so long and was so determined to get better and beat this evil that still seems to plague women and men. There is still a stigma attached to it, that the person wants attention, that they want to do this to themselves...it's wrong. The person does need attention in some way...not only from loved ones, but from themselves!! They need to find the little voice inside that says, 'I love you just the way you are and you're beautiful'. Until we can wipe it out, we have to fight many battles to help.
She was one of the first friends I made when I came to the UK, we took Beauty Therapy together, though spent more time having a laugh than working, but our group of friends kept each other going. Not even weeks ago, she messaged to ask for my number as she said she could do with a friend...and I had been trying to get in touch with her & then I heard the news. My heart breaks. Why do we do this to ourselves!?! Having conquered anorexia and bullemia myself...I knew she could get better and so did everyone that loved her. She will be very missed, such a beautiful person. I hope that you will hug someone close today & extend an ear, a hand, a heart out to those battling this vile problem. I'll be back on Wednesday & visit all your blogs as well. I hope you have a wonderful Monday!!

  13. I'm so sorry to hear about your friend...Some diseases come from bacteria, others from the brain. The ones in the brain are the hardest to fight, since you can't just take some medicine until the bacterias are gone, and you're healthy again. The brain-demons are hard to expel...Glad you managed to get rid of yours though, and hope the bacteria ones will be gone from your system soon too! Kisses and hugs!!! <3

  16. Kizzy, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. That is so tragic. I know people who had eating disorders, but they never got that bad. My heart feels for you right now. I'm very concerned about how you're doing. This weather keeps changing. I've had a bit of the blues too. That's why I didn't post Friday. I hope you feel better soon doll. If you want to talk, you know how to get in touch with me. Love you!

  24. Oh, Timbarika, I will be lifting you up in prayer on both accounts--for your health, and the health of your spirit during a sad time. Thank you for sharing such an intense bit of information about yourself. I have a family member who is battling, too. I cannot reach the person to help because they are very guarded by the parents (pride). I try in the best way I can to reach out in love. Any advice, or insight, you have to share, I would greatly appreciate. Warm hugs to you!! xo

  35. I'm very sorry to hear about your loss, my friend. That is such tragic news. It saddens me deeply that there are still so many women and girls out there who have such a distorted view of reality, and it comes with such heartbreaking consequences. And who is to blame? The media? The fashion industry? Society? Perhaps a little bit of everyone. I just wish the day would come when everyone learns to accept beauty as what it is: imperfection. My thoughts are with you and her family. xo

  42. So sorry for your loss, I wish you all the strenght!

It is really brave to acknowledge you own battle with eating disorders, speaking out is a good way to take the stigma out of anorexia, which is a real mental disease, not just need of attention.

    Also get better soon!
