Doll Style | The Walking Painting!

Good Morning dolls!! And as you can see, when I said Mondays art post was connected to this one, I was telling the truth!! If you look closely at my skirt, you will see Boucher's The Four Seasons: Spring. 1755 painting below on it:

It's a pleated skirt, so obviously the painting doesn't look flat. I was browsing for skirts after Lily was born (because I'm breast-feeding her and can't wear any of my dresses just now as it's impossible to nurse in them) so skirts are my best friend & I didn't want just any boring skirt & was so happy when I found this one randomly on ebay! With Boucher being one of my favourite painters, I just knew I had to have this and wearing it makes me smile & feel as though I'm in the painting somehow. 

I love clothes that tell a story or that I feel connected to, even though the skirt is modern, because the painting it displays is so old, I feel transported. I paired it with one of my new - to me vintage bed jackets from the 30's, I purchased from Etsy, which has become my best friend in finding vintage treasures at the moment, I love this site. I can feel the stories of all of those that have worn it before me. I've bought so many vintage things lately, I will try and share them with you here and there.
