| Goals For 2018 |

Hello hello dolls!! I hope the New Year is going well so far for you. So far here it's been constant rain and dark clouds, so pictures for pretty much anything are difficult to take, so I decided it was the perfect moment to just sit back and think about what I'd like to do this year or accomplish. I've read a lot of tweets from people being negative about resolutions or goals, but I don't think there is anything wrong with thinking about a direction you wish to head in. I take each day as it comes, but having a goal does help me to see how far I've come and what new things I'd like to aim for. But, I always remember that it isn't always the end result, it's the journey that I went through to get there. No pressure on yourself, a positive attitude, planning and believing you can do it.
One of my favourite quotes is by Sun Tzu:

With that quote in mind, I've come up with some things I would like to do this year!

1. Travel More - Goodness, even if I'm being a tourist in Scotland or the rest of the UK that I've never been, I'd like to see new places. It helps to break up the every day routine. But, there are some countries that I would like to see like Spain, Japan or South Korea.

2. Read More Books - I read a pitiful amount of no books really this past year, which for me is strange because I used to read one a day practically, I did have a small toddler, so I don't feel too bad about this one. Now that Lily is bigger and plays more on her own, I can start to grab a book more. I love to read, so I'd like to fix that. I'm even thinking of sharing books on here that I've enjoyed after I finish them.

3. Expand My Blog - After having to put this blog on the back burner a lot of the time last year to care for Lily, I missed it a lot. I stayed mostly with my Instagram & built that up a bit, so I'd like to get focused once again and bring new & different content to my blog more regularly. I have a new laptop, so I won't have computer problems anymore as well. Improve my writing, more outfits, new topics like places to eat in Glasgow or Edinburgh (more on that later though) and build a bigger network of readers, blogger friends and opportunities too.

4. Get back to my photography - Yes, I do photography, but the past years have only been pictures of my children. I used to sell my work, but gave it up as I had no time. But, lately I've really missed adventures of lugging my camera around and shooting random things. Not to sell really, it's just for enjoyment. I think I'll randomly share what I take a picture of here every now and then, maybe create a poem or something to go with it, ha.

5. Take more outfit pictures/creative shoots - I totally slacked last year in this, so I'd like to improve there. I have lots of notes and ideas written down, so instead of them just being on the paper, I'm going to do them. My confidence in that area has grown a lot from doing previous shoots when I was able too, so I feel like I want to keep pushing myself creatively there.

6. Sleep Better - now this might sound strange for some but any Mothers will be able to identify straight away. My sleep has become a mess from nursing Lily and now that it's coming to a slow end, I've been left with a terrible ability to get a good night's rest. I wake at the slightest thing. But, I'm going to have a blog post about that, so I'll talk more in that.

7. Do more creative things - I have a pile of clothes that I had planned on customising last year and I didn't get them done, so I'd like to get them done. As a matter of fact, I already started, so I'm happy for that. I'll share them here once I get them finished or show progressive glimpses until it's done.

8. Get back into baking new things - Now anyone with kids will know it's not so easy to do this when they're crying or asking you a question every 5 seconds. But, I enjoy baking and cooking, it just takes concentration that I really haven't had. But, Lily is older now and not nursing, so I can be free to spend time baking treats. Like I want to learn to make macrons as I love them.

9. Just be happy - Lastly, but most importantly be happy. We spend so much time trying to do all these things, but we don't often spend a lot of time on just being happy. Finding happiness in the small things and moments. These are the things that get us through each day, if I can do that, then all of these other goals are achievable!

Do you have any goals you'd like to achieve?? Let me know in the comments or my social media pages. Have a sweet day dolls.

xoxo
