| An Ode to Fearless Women |

An Ode to Fearless Women
Defined by no man, you are your own story, blazing through the world, turning history into herstory.
And when they dare to tell you about all the things you cannot be, you smile and tell them, "I am both war and woman and you cannot stop me"
by. Nikita Gill

Sometimes in life there will be people who won't believe in you, they will think you can't achieve the things you wish to achieve. They will do everything they can to disparage the goals you set out to accomplish and none of it will have anything to do with you. You must live fearlessly, you must go where you wish to be. Life and even blogging has taught me that at times, we'll have to be our own cheerleaders, our own crutch, that people will cheer for you or they will cheer for your fall. But, none of that matters when you believe in the power of yourself. When you find the ones that will cheer for your success and lift you when you stumble - hold tight to them. People like this are rare. I think especially as women, we need to champion each other. We've come a long way but, still have far to go in the pursuit of equality across the board. Which is why I really believe in the importance of self belief, because at times we are going to have to stand alone and we need to be able to withstand the trials that will come our way. Our strength is not measured in how many times we fall but, in how many times we rise back up. Our worth is not measured in the beauty of our appearance but in the beauty of our hearts and souls.
The beautiful thing about fear is, when you run to it, it runs away. Facing the things you're afraid of is the only way to conquer them, because when we do so, we take away their power or the power we thought they had. Turn your fears into your triumphs. I used to be afraid of more things than I could count, so afraid that it would cause me anxiety. When I would fall asleep, I would dream that I conquered those fears and in the dream it wasn't so scary and I thought, 'why can't I do that in real life? And little by little, I just kept pushing myself to do the things I thought that I couldn't do and soon those fears became accomplishments. Now I live to dare myself to do the things I'm timid to do, it gives me a rush and I feel this incredible strength when I check them off the list. Growing up I was a wallflower and wanted to be invisible to people, I let people answer for me because I was too timid to speak out loud. But, what I was doing was letting others have my voice, have my spotlight, I wasn't living, I was just existing. We're all here to speak our truth and live our truth. We owe it to the world and most of all to ourselves to live fully, to run the distance, to stand tall, and to be fearless! Live a life of 'I did that' instead of 'I wish I did that'! Have a wonderful week ahead dolls.

p.s. the poem above is written by one of my favourites Nikita Gill, I feel so empowered reading her words, it's like they come from my own heart. You can buy her books on Amazon, so worth it.

  4. Hi Kizzy! Your words work like a virtual hug for me, just what I needed to read this morning. Turn your fears into power and be proud of them because you cannot grow and build yourself without them. Is like you see the things, they could be a true blessing instead of a damnation. Hugs to you my dear and have a great week! xo

  13. You look stunning. I also adore your words. I agree females need to support each other more, especially in todays age. We have a tendency to be our own worst enemies or to each other. I hope we can all change, find common ground and empower each other to do great things.

  14. What a beautiful make up look! The photography is so whimsical and dreamy. Something about this look makes me think Camelot, maybe it is the head ornament. You sure look divine.
I also really appreciate your words. It is so important to believe in ourselves and keep going. We cannot look to others to empower us. We must empower ourselves.

  16. I really identified with your sentence 'I let people answer for me because I was too timid to speak out loud'. This is something I have worked hard to overcome and I love the motivational message of this post.

  17. Magnificent words dear, women have advanced a lot but there is a long way to eradicate femicide and other defects of society, women must support each other and thus we will become stronger.
